Found this while trying to find some Gao Gai Gar Figures since I keep loosing the auctions on ebay. But I think this is where Hasbro/Takara got the idea for prime, even down to the colors, just wish they had made the arms and legs transform like this one does. Tell me what you think.

This is the GaoGaiGar Thunderbaron.

Wow! I have that guy and never even knew his name. Thanks

Never thought of it, but it does look a heck of alot alike!

Very similar.

Good find.

Great googa mooga! So THAT'S the Thunder Baron I kept hearing about! o_O Wish they'd given Prime some shoulder cannons. >_< Anyway. great find!

actually, Thunder Baron was from "Taiyou no Yuusha Fighbird", another of the "Brave Robot" series that later spawned Gaogaigar. The Brave Robot series were unrelated but all consisted of the giant-robot-mecha battles and action. Gaogaigar is supposedly the ultimate brave robot series and the final one they did. Thus, the series is called "The King of Braves" (which was supposed to mean "The ultimate Brave Robot").

Prime is more traditional Voltron looking...

Eh... Wingsabre comes out and my Prime won't ever look like that.

But good find, it does share a desturbing resimblance

mmmmmmm....shoulder cannons
