Cybertron Wing Saber

Recommended Posts

Alright, I just picked up Cybertron Wing Saber.

I need to paint his sabers silver all the way around... bah.

But ignoring that, I am wondering something:

How does his rear wings/legs go together in plane/backpack mode? I can't seem to line them up right, and the notches and grooves are only infuriating the problem...

His legs do go in attached by a small tap.

Yeah, but that's the thing: There are two tabs upon which the flaps/his feet can connect, and neither of them hold very securely.

Yeah, you just kind of pick one and stick to it. I don't care much for the design back there.

ya. i got him recently, and only one leg seems to stick decently, the other it just sort of goes in, put pops out moments later.  not a good design at all.

the GF version holds slightly better, but not much.

Didn't look, but I wouldn't be surprised. Something tells me Wing Saber's out too early.. If anything, he should've been packaged with a Giant Planet fig.

In my experience with the GF version, there's a little trick with the legs, in that the tabs only work properly if the legs are in absolutely the right position.  To achieve this, squeeze the legs together as close as possible to the tail portion.  If you just transform that part casually, you'll usually wind up being one click off from the optimal position.  Just squeeze them together, and you'll find the legs clicking in one more that it seemed possible.  After that, the feet should line up well enough with the tabs.

I hate that part of his design.  It doesn't seem too well thought out.  I mean, the parts don't even line up in such a way that it seems like one complete part.  They're just kinda slapped together.  Don't know what Takara's engineers were smoking when they figured this one out.

I've got no problems with the legs doing what they're supposed to do. If you have his legs positioned the correct way, they'll hold up all day. Anyway, the way I position the legs, when combined with Prime, is the same way they are when he's in jet mode. The only difference is I leave the turbines open. It works rather well that way. I am also in agreement that they should have painted the entire surface of the swords(flaps) grey, instead of leaving half of it white.
