The thing that is annoying is that as I get more boxed items, my loose total goes down, especially if I get something that has more than 1 toy in it that I have loose. So technically, if I were to only buy boxed ones of toys I have loose, it would be possible for my collection size to shrink, as odd as that sounds.

But I have made the conscious decision to NOT collect bootlegs anymore, which means all my bootlegs will end up on TFIEDS probably later in the month or sooner. This even includes my oversized Space Wars Gigatron and Kingdam Starscream.

i hate bootlegs

i look up to you now :)

You sure I can't pawn off a Kingdam Starscream on you? I got two of them now. :redface

Well, just for the heck of it because of these "let's stay consistant" rules, I clicked on the 0-50 button. Since I don't know if these would count as one item for example:

powered convoy (grey)

powered convoy (mekki)

powered convoy DX

Powered convoy Joustra version

Ultra Magnus (NG color)

Ultra Magnus (Japanese g1)

or

Devastator diaclone 2nd recolor GS X3 (box and mold variants)

Diaclone KO devastator release in 85 <-- not counted

Devastator GS (US box)

Devastator  GS (Japan box)

or

Microchange MC-12 Black X2

Microchange MC- 12 Grey variant

Microhange MC-13 X3

Loose Jp Megatron

Boxed JP megatron version 1

Boxed PJ megatron version 2

Goodbye Megatron

Megatron within my VSX set

MISB US Megatron (not reissue)

Those were some examples of how my collection goes, alot of multiples of the same type of character or mold. Does this mean I only have 3 figures (with taking only ultra magnus, devastator, and megatron into consideration)? Or do I saw 8, since there are 6 constructicons in the GS. Heck, do my pre transformers even count (Diaclone, microchange, toybox, toyco, takutoku, etc)?

Thanks.                                                    -Himawari

(probably never get past 50 if using the "universal rules" or whatever it was called. But that is OK, I prefer quality over quantity anyday)

I guess this is 1 item?

thanks.                                        Himawari

No i count those things as separate items. Think of it like a business and how they take inventory. They don't just say "well we have 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels" they have multiples of it. Typically in these types of threads people will say I have "X TFs not counting doubles", or "X TFs counting doubles", or in your case "I have 50 individual molds/unique toys not counting doubles".

It's all personal preference on how many toys you say you have because everyone counts them different. Some people don't count doubles but some do.

Sorry, I was being cynical.

I was trying to emphasize how the rules of this "2005 Survey Protocol" has it's problems. Personally, I think it should be simple, why not count duplicates? Having an army of jumpstarters is no different from having an army of diaclone Powered Convoys. Price shouldn't be a consideration. An item is an item. I think a better more simple rule would be to count whatever comes in one package at the time of purchase from the store as one item. In the case of GS items, if they are also sold seperatly, then each item that is sold seperatly would be counted. Heck, might as well count each items in boxes like micromasters etc as well.

Just my views on it.

And yes, I'll count my toys however I want.

uhhhh, based on the Himawari Method of Transformery Calculation, I only have 3 Insecticons!  :tfsad

According to my wife and family, I have too damn many.

At last count, 209 TF's and 83 mini cons.  I would show pics if I had a digi cam.  Too many TF's and not enough room in the flat for them.  I'm considering packing them away, but if I do, then the living room will be fairly bare.

Well I'll tell you this, with the exception of about a dozen or so really rare Japanese TFs...... I have everything .

I'm curious; which ones, specifically do you still need? I'm concentrating on Japanese releases myself, and I'm getting pretty close. This is my want list:

go-bot optimus prime

dark egg bird

7-eleven clear chase spychangers (all 6)

Micron Booster v.3 Bug General

e-hobby black megatron

all dvd microns

dvd excellion

dvd chromia

and I haven't really started on the juniors yet. I have star saber, super ginrai and the 3-pack. Raiden will be hard to get!

also, I don't collect toys that don't transform or anything that was handed out for free, like lucky draws, campaign microns or pack-ins like the white headmasters-

Well I have all of them..... I need much older and rarer ones from the eighties.

Cool. I have all of them.
