How is that speculation? She was a Maximal originally, Tarantulas screwed her over and made her a Predacon, she defects anyway but remains "bad", Rhinox tries to remove the shell program but fails right before she's TM2'D.... the reformatting process in BM would have removed all of that.

Which brings up another question, can Transformers revert back to their protoform state?

Data tracks (i.e. memories) are stored in the stasis pod to be uploaded into the Maximal when it gets its new body. Tarantulas added a shell program into BA's body that "filtered" everything she perceived or did/said. This was never successfully removed in BW, so yes it's true that we never knew what she was like prior to that point.

 

However,her experiences during the Beast Wars simply demonstrated her slowly starting to fight against that shell program and "become" who she originally was, Silverbolt being the catalyst for this change. Of course we are shaped by our experiences, but Blackarachnia hasn't become a different person all of a sudden in BM. She's just not struggling against her programming anymore.

edit: It surprised the Powerglide outta me tohugh.... i figured he'd bring in him/beat the everliving Powerglide out of him if anything liek that ever happened.
