Oh, about Devastator....don't make me pull up that pic from Carnage in C Minor again :tflaugh1

No need!  I've seen it already!  But I assume that was just a mistake by the animators, they probably wanted just to show a regular Constructicon or something, happened a lot in the cartoons.

But Astrotrain being big enough as a shuttle to hold Devastator is another story!

If there was mass shifting in G1 as we know it, how come a said TF couldn't grow to the size of, say, a gestalt.. I mean, if they shrink, then they must be able to grow to huge sizes too, right?

:tfevil

This question is the mother of all BS answers. The stupid thing is that most people fully accept one BS explanation or another.

Retrocon theorization seems to be a more enjoyable alternative to simply accepting that the size-change can be attributed to either shoddy animation or the attempt of the cartoon to bring together toy lines that were created on completely different scales.

Oh, and X-Bob is right about Broadside- the profile actually says that he decompresses and shifts around parts during transformation.  My mistake.

Robot raises body temparature to the point of fusion in a nanosecond.

Stretches metallic structure and circuitry to the right format.

Freezes into form.

New thinner armor is reinforced with an integrated protective field.

And back.

*Bangs head against the wall.*

Now explain how every TF(and every cartoon character for that point) can just put their hands behind thier back and grab a weapon or  object straight out of thin air?

do you reallly wanna know where the are pulling it out of? (*) it would be that little hole...or as raptrap likes to put it...the waiste mangement system
