no love for megatron

thats not the same thing and you know it.

I wasn't being a smart ass.

My point was that they actively put the G1 Megatron character into the line.

And as the line was full of old alt modes, the likely reason he wasn't a gun was for technical reasons.

A re-designed show accurate gun Megs would most likely not have been cost effective in the Robot Masters line, so rather than see his non appearance as an indication of no gun Megs in THS, I think it suggests that THS would be the perfect line.

We know from RM that they still want to push the character.

We know THS are redesigned mini Masterpieces, they don't have to be 100% accurate, and we know, from the fact they've made a second THS figure, that the higher pricepoint justifies the expense and effort of a complete redesign.

So yeah, was just saying that RM, to me at least, was not an indication of no G1 Megs in the THS line.

Just gimme a worthy MP Megs and I will be extremely happy (until I want my THS Megs, but that is besides the point).

Makes no sense to me to have Cyb Megs the colors that he is and then recolor him into the proper colors as Galvatron. I have always been annoyed by that. But if they did the right colors first, then no one would have bought the Galvatron recolor. Still I want my Megs to be gray, black and silver. No pastel colors dammit.

For every Prime there should be a Megs. I'd (reluctantly) settle for "Scourge/Nem-Prime" repaints though.

Check out his profile, the European version is called Archforce, I have Archforce! :clap

Archforce is better. He doesn't have a sticker that makes me want to smash him. :thumb

It's more of a marketing thing than anything else. The sales boys at Hasbro/Takara knows that there are legions of Optimus Prime fanatics/worshippers out there that will buy anything with the name "Optimus Prime" attached to it, while fans of Megatron aren't as messed up as Optimus Prime fans (for example, when Alternator Optimus Prime and Pepsi Prime came out, despite the ugliness of both designs, you see forums with people making that claim that they are ugly, but will buy it anyways because it's "Optimus Prime.")

This is the mentality that the big corporation is targeting on. To them, having to fork up the cost of production, it has to be justifiable to expect a good size return. So far, the Optimus Primes made since RID had got people shelling out $50+ just to get one, while Megatrons are shelf warmers at some places. This is why Hasbro/Takara will always make Optimus Primes because there will always be rubes who's willing to part with the cash just to fulfill their Optimus Prime fetish.

Archforce was my favourite toy as a kid, despite only knowwing him as "small purple super Megatron guy"

Check it out G2 Hero Optimus Prime is called "Sureshot" in Europe. Looks like Prime to me...

I'm not bothered if Megs never returns as a gun again, I honestly think that someone as powerful as Megs who's alt mode was a gun was pretty bad and not what you would expect for someone who is supposedly more powerful than Prime.  Megs as a tank is more fitting, it suits his powerful character much better than turning into a tiny gun.

And that Sureshot thing caused much confusion and resulted in me never owning that mold. :(

True, but have you ever thought that many Optimus Prime toys sell because the toys are among the finest in each line?

Or because his appearance is instantly recognisable to non TF fans, regardless of which line he's in, making him the easy present choice?
