The only reason Hot Rod to ever become a leader...

Recommended Posts

...In the movie was because it was the end of the war. So there was really no need to care about human nature and human nature was put to the side on plot. If it did invlove real human nature, the way Optimus already does to us saying he is the true leader, then all these new series would feature Hot Rod instead because of that turning point in the series.

But I could see Hot Rod a leader in a new singled out series. But it would all have to take place on Cybertron or something and deal with nothing but speed racing cars and night time life.

What I am saying is that it was like a give-away for the series to end. Optimus is dead, but this is the only movie, so it inturns makes Hot Rod the leader if he wanted to be. But because of those steps, it could be said that it wasn't true at all to ever be a leader.

Like saying there is no point in even asking if he should be a leader, cause you people don't go to school on how the movie actually worked. Atleast to me thats is how I feel. They felt cause its a movie, the only one, it doesn't matter really in plot. The movie kind of desimates the whole G1 Continuity. Like all movies there like a "3rd ending".

I dont' know, now I am getting to indepth with the whole of Transformers. I guess because I don't except the movie much on how it ties with everything. For one it needs to be redone, 2 its too old, 3 its not mentioned in other series.

In series, perhaps. Also, the fact that he had the Matrix counted for something.

In reality, the reason so many Autobots and Decepticons were destroyed, was because they needed to clean the field for new characters, ergo new toys. In other to sell those toys, they needed to make the kids like the characters. In order to make them like the characters, those characters need screentime. And, in order to give them screentime, the old characters, whose toys weren't being made anyway, needed to be moved out of the picture.

THAT is the reason Optimus Prime was killed, along with so many other transformers.

:pfx The downward turn of the series post-movie was just an unfortunate side effect :tflaugh

I totally forgot about that view on the movie. About bringing in a new Generation as a basis. Was Bumble Bee killed in the movie? Sorry been a long time since I watched it. I think it was in the scene in Unicron on one of the treadmill hooks to the furnis. That would explain why no more Bumble Bee.

Well that sucks cause I was going to say that there should be a series straight off of G1 right after the Movie, based on Cybertron, 100 years after the war. With Hot Rod as the leader, Bumble Bee by his side, characters that some how make it back from death. Making it more real to give life to more plot holes and a better story. Plots holes to those deaths in the movie, you know? Its kind of bad to just kill off people without really explaining it in the movie to people that don't pay attention to it. So in turn a direct series from it, with people coming back, might actually help the TF universe...

And give Hot Rod a chance to reign.

In other to make them like the characters....

"In other"? what am I, German?

First, the movie was never intended to be "the End of the Great War". They left Cybertron, but weren't defeated.

Second, as far as your suggestion: Rodimus Prime was given a chance to shine. The writers decided to go for a more vulnerable character. It didn't go well. No-one likes a whiner, especially not one who refuses to grow up.

Third, also in relation to your suggestion: We're talking about the eighties. Plotholes were practically manditory. We are spoiled to have had a couple of good series who gave a focal point to plot and story-development. Don't expect that from every series.

Third: G1 is over. I enjoyed it, but, seriously, do we really want G1 redux? Compared to todays standard, I can guarantee you we would all be heavily disappointed.

So you're saying TF:TM was the most successful commerical ever.

1. as you explained.

2. we paid to watch it.

3. we bought the toys.

That must have been the point in time where Has/Tak realized if they make it, we'll buy it and we do! (example: Rodimus Prime)

:redface

Yup. We paid to watch what was basically an extended commercial. Doesn't that make you feel good? :P
