alright a little back story first and then point of the topic

Ok so I'm a poor SOB who's in need of a little extra spending cash.

I have a couple of old apple mac's (like 1986\'87 old). I decieded to sell them on evil bay to make a quick little bit of bank. I dug them out and found out that the floppys for them were up in the attic. while crawling around up there last night I noticed that I had a LOT of trash bags full of empty TF packages (somwhere around 13) The disks where somewhere in one of those bags. So I started pulling them down from the attic to go thrue them.  I found TF packages going all the way back to late G2.  It suddenly hit me that these cards and boxes with bubbles and inserts ate up a huge ammount of space, and were all bent up.  I made the choice today rather then dragging all of that stuff back up to the attic in trash bags. To start removeing bubbles from cards, and inserts from boxes. I'm nowhere near finshed, but i am going to do this with all of my tf stuff from now one. (except for imports) I guess the point I'm trying to get accross here is how does the fandom in genral store the boring part of their tf's (the boxes). I really want to find out how much of a freak I really am.

Also I think out of all of the packages from the past 10 years or so. I like TM beast wars, blue boxed alts and late RID packageing the most.  All the stuff they have dont sence seems so i dont know bland, and lifeless.

I only have the boxes to a very few TFs, mostly rare ones tha tI bought with box on Ebay, and considering the prices I paid for them I jsut can't throw the boxes out yet.  Main line figs i pick up though get trashed pretty quick.

I also keep my BT boxes of course, jsut because I plan on reboxing them whenever I move.

I save the cards, and that's about it.

right now i save it all, even the bubles and inserts (only the twisty ties get trown). I plan on having a wall full of cards and boxes when i get the room.

every box and every card ( without the bubbles ) for almost ( bar a couple dozen mostly G1 stuff ) every transformer and other toy that i own, none of them are kept like that, seems a waste with transforming toys

I'm like Tentagil, I keep only the boxes for rare figures and imports. I don't keep any of the boxes for my BTs though, they get thrown out like all the mainline stuff.

The only boxes I have are:

MP Prime

MP Magnus

BWM Jaguar (Ravage), I paid too much to throw that out.

Hasbro Reissue Astrotrain (don't know why)

GF Starscream

GF Primus (scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!!! :clap )

I had the boxes for CR Brave Max and Takara Re-issue Prowl and Jazz stored at my parents house while I was in college, but they were thrown out a few years ago (dammit).

Well, I had to choose between two options that I do. Keep Misb or keep everything once they are open. I am a big MISB keeper and if i want to open it I buy a 2nd. I just think the boxes make perfect little display cases and plus it keeps the figures from getting dusty. My BTs are all sealed..alts I used to open, however now with BTs future uncertain I will buy doubles of prime and mirage. G1 stuff i have is a different story, since just about 90% of them are from my childhood...i only have boxes for the larger figures like fort max, galvatron, metroplex...basically any box that had a styrofoam insert. I do have some of the other boxes, however no where near as many as the other type.

I guess I am just very OCD. The boxes display better to my eyes they tons of loose figures. Heck I even have a huge glass display case, like the ones in store, for my loose G1 stuff. And when it comes to storage, in general I think they stack better in the closet...the exception being Armada and cybertron since they have some odd shapped boxes...And now the new alt boxes just annoy me for some reason.

So in short I am a huge pack rat....I keep everything! I really think I need some professional help here  ;-) lol

well i dont feel quite so bad now.  At least I'm not the only one who has kept everything,  Of course I guess it doesnt matter now that I am like 3/4 done with unbubbleing and removeing incerts from everything.

this is a scary bad job I tell ya

right now i save it all, even the bubles and inserts (only the twisty ties get trown). I plan on having a wall full of cards and boxes when i get the room.

I save them all as well. I have this huge box that holds them. Of course I don't actually open my toys anymore but sometimes I get them from ebay.

I wish I would have saved the packages.  I might have a few of them, I better start looking for them. :Dc
