I think Don should throw everybody for a loop... make Prime a banana.

And Soundwave's a blender. When they tussle they can make smoothies.

And Rumble could be a blueberry and Frenzy could be a rasberry :tflaugh

people will still continue to Starscream over that.  (i.e. looking at the statement from Mr. Murphy, "Prime will be a truck but a different kind of truck")

I think all these posts in this past week by Michael Bay and Don Murphy regarding the voice actors are basically the same thing:

----A nice way of saying "were not using cullen and welker" (its like saying "maybe" when you mean "no"------

Hey, maybe i'll be proven wrong and i really hope i am, cause i really want the original voice actors (wants to hear megatron say "Why throw away your life so wrecklessly?")

I certainly don't want the big budget, live-action movie to be a remake of TF:TM, but you do have to have some similarity to the original '84 line IMO.

I would love it if they had Cullen and Welker as the voices. I think that adds some of the nostalgia of the original. Like I said in other threads, people that are at all familiar w/ TFs (which from my experience talking about my collection are most people) will be confused and disappointed if Prime and Megs have different voices and/or drastically different looks. Granted Megs needs to be something else (like a tank per chance???), but Prime needs to look like Prime.

Case in point, I play poker online at bodog.com and you can use an avatar there. I took a pic of MP Prime and use that as mine. Just last night I got a comment saying "Optimus Prime rules!!!" from some random person. People are familiar w/ the franchise and expect it to be a certain way. If Bay makes too many changes to it, then IMO the movie will suffer.

The easiest way to bring people in is to give them something familiar, and there is no sense in changing things just for the sake of change.

people will still continue to bitch over that.  (i.e. looking at the statement from Mr. Murphy, "Prime will be a truck but a different kind of truck")

See the rest of my post.

this is all speculation and anecdotal evidence.... personally I'd rather see them start over with a new idea. They already did G1 once anyway.

Ok that is your opinion, you've seen mine.

It is just as speculative to say that a reinvention of the franchise would do any better than sticking w/ its roots. Let's just agree to disagree and continue to have nice fun debates on the boards.
