The Decepticon Symbol was based on....

Recommended Posts

SOUNDWAVE! HJust look at his face. The crests at the top are there and the bits at the side of the mouth are are there too. The symbols is just a stylized sounwave face!

(moreso on the toy face than on the animated one)

If you use a little interpretation, the Decepticon symbol looks like a dragon's face head-on. (compare a picture of a red dragon from D&D to the symbol, you'll see what I mean!)

It does. Thats pretty interesting. Maybe it is a more predatory looking Soundwave. The must have picked soundwave because he is the most deceptive of all the decepticons.

I'm glad they didn't, but it surprises me that the insignias were not based off of the heads of the two leaders from 1984.

They tried that with Prime in G2. It didn't work so good.

Yeah I remember the G2 autobot symbol, I always wondered why they made it look like that. But now I know, and knowing is half the battle...GI JOE. Sorry, I was on a run there.

But that is interesting, I have noticed the resemblance between soundwave and the decepticon logo before, but never thought that was how they came upon it.

I was under the impression that Cliffjumper's face was the model for the autobot sigil.

To me the Decepticon logo looks like the Griffin on the Vaxauls cars
