Is it just me or did Hasbro actually foot the bill for more paint aps?

 

If not I'm glad to see he still looks as good if not better than the GF version and that the aps are on his saw and cyberkey.

 

That hybrid mold with the shorter legs actually doesn't look half bad.  :drool

 

I'll be happy to pic this one up at full Leaderclass retail. :thumb 

Well, I have the GF version, and other than the 'photoshop' effects detailed above he looks about the same.

 

Robot mode is nice, as is brute mode. Alt mode is 'meh'. The small LOC metallic Optimus is a nice touch as well. Definitely paid a little too much at the import store, IMO.

 

Hasbro should follow suit by including neat little extras as an incentive to buy their products over the GF version.

Trust me I'm not buying Metroplex for his alt mode. Personally I don't think anybody is. Alt modes are nice to swap between but like most collectors it's the bot mode which spends the most time on the shelf. :thumb

 

Unless of course they're Energon Terracons. They all are forever confined to alt mode.

Looking at him in Brute mode makes me think that he would look pretty good in Devastator Color Scheme.  Maybe it's the shovels on his feet.  Maybe it's just me.  I think he looks pretty darn good though,  weird alt mode or not. Can't wait for him.

City alt mode would be nice. That I definitely agree on. METROplex. They didn't name him that because he's "metro-sexual". Anyway, it's still got potential. I hope it looks that good when it's produced.

Even if they did - the Metrosexual identity is an "Urban" creation... thus the Citiy is still just as valid.

Problem with this mentality is that we are buying TRANSFORMERS for a reason.

and if we weremeant to get all gooshy over non transforming robots -well we would buy things liek Spawn the Cyborg or something.

the pics look good but all of the pics from hasbro look gr8 shame the toys never look as good i just hope hes not an other sound wave

I made fun of this figure at first because it looks like he is "taking it" in alt mode, but his robot mode is really awesome and possable, and when I saw him at botcon I did want him.  the ax I think is really cool.

I don't regret paying 80 dolars to import the GF version...
