I don't know what the original looked like; I just don't see how the "mold" matches this guy so much:

Well LM here`s a shot of all of my human Dino Rider figures just before I repainted this guy.

 

 

As for how the mold fits well it`s the closest thing I could find and as for the head band. Well I didn`t see any way with out major reworking I could get rid of it. So rather than wasting hours of sculpting with contour putty on Daniel I decided to just do a straight repaint.

 

And Hunter Rose I understand that Daniel and Wheelie are the most hated of all of the G1 characters, but lets face it if you had to choose which kid version you could be between Spike and Daniel. You`d choose Daniel. He rode around in Hotrod, Arcee, Rodimus Prime, and at the age of like 10 was piloting an exo suit that transformed around him. Ok so he hung out with Wheelie who only talked in rhymes but hey no one`s perfect. While Spike rode around in Bumblebee, and for the most part that was it. I don`t even remember him ever riding around in Optimus except maybe once or twice, and he also rode around in Windcharger from time to time. Don`t get me wrong Bumbles, and Windcharger are great characters but seriously would you rather ride around in a bug or a hotrod?

I love bumblebee - he is the main reason i have owned 4 beetles in my life.

Boy, seeing Daniel actually riding Wheelie like that.... well it just destroys the subtlety in the homosexual overtones their relationship carried.

I always thought that what made a character cool was the actual character himself, not who he hung out with.

 

Spike was better anyway because at least his balls had dropped. And he fought with the Autobots instead of just running around screaming and stuff. JMO

At least Spike got laid by a woman occassionally.  Plus Spike was hardcore and Blot.  He didn't hang around an annoying candy-ass Starscream like Wheelie.  In his off time he was playing football with Dinobots.  Dinobots for God's sake!  He also played a little B-ball with Optimus every now and then.  Daniel sucked.  I bet he was adopted.
