tf universe seacons

I love the Seacons. They were always my favourite TFs growing up (I'm also a sucker for marine TFs). I know the Universe colours werent THAT great, but they were still pretty cool and they do grow on you. Tentakil and Skalor looked especially good as Seawing's flame-rainbow wings were awesome, not to mention Pirahnaking's (as he was called) combined form. And given all the weird, less-than-stellar TFs to come out of Universe, shouldn't we at least be given ONE good G1 mold that isnt those stupid Combaticons we've seen a thousand times?

Reading through this thread, I am disheartened by the lack of love for the Seacons (most of which coming from those who can't even remember the individual toys). But regardless of Piranacon/Piranhaking's colour, he still looks a million times better than no-neck Menasor or sickly-thin Superion.

Fans want the Universe Seacons. They really do. If you're lucky enough to get a complete G1 set, go ahead. But not everyone can. I for one already have the G1 set and the BWII set, and I would still love to see the new ones released. Hopefully, Hasbro will give us the Seacons at some point, hopefully we'll hear some good news at Toy Fair next weekend.

i was wondering when you were going to post. and now that i know you have the g1 version and god neptune, im must say im even more confused. and as far as bruticus being released six times a year, we all know he's been done to death. but if theyre going to release a set of g1 combiners then there are far more deserving than piranacon. like devastator, menasor, superion.... pretty much every g1 combiner i think should be picked above him. even abominous. i dont dislike the piranacons eve the slightest, and my lack of intrest is prolly from him not being in the show. but the rest were. and those are ones id rather see back on shelfs.

I guess it all comes down to personal taste. I for one hated the Stunticons, but many people like them. I love the Seacons, but I know that some fans don't. But it's going to be more and more rare to see repaints of older G1 toys, and as much as I hate the stunticons or aerialbots or whoever, I would still jump at the oppurtunity to get a repainted set of any of them. And since the Seacons were always my favourite, it was like a dream come true to have them released in the Universe line.

I just hope Hasbro doesn't burst my bubble.

Okay, I'll count myself among the few that loved the Seacons, and loved Piranhacon's badass gestalt mode. They certainly weren't the best of the combiner teams (I still love Devestator the best!), but they weren't any worse or any simpler than any of the others. The Seacons were actually my favorite toys from that year! :D

I guess I don't get what the big deal is about people wanting the Universe set. I can certainly understand people wanting it, especially those that have never owned the originals. It certainly wouldn't phase me either way whether or not Hasbro re-releases them. If they did, though, I'd probably pick 'em up! :thumb

i owned the g1 giftset and lost all but the fish dude and the leader snapping turtle. it woulda been cool if they rereleased the set. wasn't the beastwars II/neo set released without accesories?

You bumped a six month-old thread because my sig bothers you?
