It's been done before, and it should be done again.

The original G1 Magnus was just a repaint of Prime, however he had a trailer which he could combine with (which Prime could combine with as well) and thus created Ultra Magnus. If G1 could do it there's no reason why it could be done again.

Interesting idea, however, I would speculate that merely outfitting the trailer onto an existing optimus would net you the same result as the G1 Ultra Magnus: A big brick. I think a true MP Ultra Magnus would have a completely new mold for the cab, one that isn't just a rehash of the current MP Optimus but would serve as a bare-bones skeleton that would enable true articulation (like MP Optimus) when the trailer section transforms around it.

I would love an MP Ultra Magnus, but we need a Decepticon first to counter MP Optimus. Since maybe Megatron is out of the question I could live with an MP Galvatron.

 

The MPs should be done for the leaders of the Auto's & Decep's. Like:

 

Optimus Prime Megatron

Ultra Magnus Galvatron

Prowl Starscream

Jazz Soundwave [Does Takara own the rights?]

 

If Megatron is done we could skip Galvatron and do Shockwave if Takara leases the rights again. Otherwise I think my list is pretty accurate.

If you're talking about Soundwave, then of course they do. They created that mold.

Hell, why not ALL of them? The first series of the G! transformers, as well as some memorable later ones, deserve masterpiece status. Has/Tak really needs to get off it's lazy "bot" and get to work!!
