5.) BTW...RodimusConvoy...that was extremely ignorant and crude of you. It's his choice and his decision not to take CCs via PayPal. By no means does that give you the right to call him on the carpet and basically call him a racist over such a dumb thing as this. (and yes, you did basically call him a racist.)

I just stated that as how little he is making his buyer's circle by putting so many restrictions in his auctions.

Im not calling him a racist.  I dont know him.  I dont know if he is married to a black girl or have chinese kids, it the same to me.

The only racist here its you because you are the one who brought the racist theme here.  If you are saying I intentionally called him racist you are fooler than I though the first time I read you stupid comment.

2.) A lot of people aren't willing to take Credit Card payments, it's nothing unusual.

He didn't say he won't take credit card payments, he said he'll only take payments from paypal if the buyer's paypal account takes it's funds from a bank or non credit card source.

If it comes from a paypal account that is verified, it makes no difference, as far as fees and protection, whether that money came from a credit/debit card, bank account or paypal balance.

Maybe he meant no direct credit card payments (which ebay would have no issue with), but that's not what he wound up saying.

If you walk into a store and pay by cheque and that cheque takes money from your bank account, and the store have no issue with the cheque or the account used, but say they'll only take it if the money in your bank account was put in a certain way, it'd make no sense.

It's no different here.

*Edit*

And if he really did mean no paypal if the funds come from credit card, to the best of my recollection, there is actually no way he'd know the difference anyway, he just gets told that paypal user (verified account) has made a payment, which makes his policy even more bizarre and pointless.

SCREW EBAY!!!

They only look out for themselves. I have NEVER ever had them help me. Even when some nut case seller started sending me gay porn because I left him a negative. They did nothing.

Use TFauctions, Shoppertron, the End Cap or any of the selling sections on the other forums. At least there are human beings operating those sites.

Sorry to hear that man. I've had a few bad experiences on ebay, and ebay have been great with me throughout.

So true.  I get my stuff from this Shoppertron and I always find the things Im looking for.

Ebay's policies are just to protect the sellers who are the ones who make money for them.

Have done a lot of business on eBay and very rarely things go wrong.

When I sell something I either factor in costs for Paypal or mention in the auction that payments by Paypal require a charge.

Seeing how much eBay and Paypal have done for me I do not mind the fees.

ok, to all... this is some clarification.

when someone sends me a payment from a paypal acct that is connected to a credit card, paypal says I have to upgrade to accept it. that is how i know it comes from a credit card.

I do not want to upgrade my account... I had that kind of acct and transitioned back to a personal acct. For $150 sold, they charged me a little over $8... sorry, I'm Outback, not worth it to me.

joshlow - i think your acct is confirmed. a verified acct is one that is connected to a bank acct.

ShadowES - freedom of speech, I can say what I want... they can't touch me... cause as far as they are concearned... it's only talk because I have done nothing wrong.

rodimusconvoy - how do I plan to make money? I've profited about $1200 from buying and reselling transformers... I offer some decent prices on things I get for really cheap... and I still profit.

anyway, thanx for the discussions... i like it.

hmm, I actually wasnt discussing your actions itself, but the payment methods you allow.  Its your thing and your business, btw.  But I strongly feel you could reach better than you are doing by allowing more payments methods in your auctions.

Btw, Im not saying you are doing anything wrong, I was just setting an example, but it was missunderstood.  In fact, if you go into a Walmart, buy a ML Phoenix for 6.99, go to ebay and sell it for 20.00, its still fair cause you paid for it.

Just my 2 cents. :thumb

Gotcha. I don't think I took offense... just pointing out that it's possible to "make money" (while having fun) without accepting vertain types of payment. I agree that I would sell more, but I don't think the selling more would outweigh the fees (at least from the stuff I sell).
