the EBAY police suck

Recommended Posts

I had a few listings on ebay that were pulled and I had this in the payment information:

Paypal MUST come from a verified accout... meaning NO credit card payments

and that's why they pulled my listings... they said that if you accept paypal, then it can't matter where it comes from.

that is just bull crap... so now I'm going to put this in my payment info:

"Since ebay won't allow me to ONLY accept verified paypal funds, I can only accept money orders now. Please contact for more information"

and when they contact me... i'll tell them i can accept paypal through a verified account. Anyone see any possible repercussions from this?

man... i would get an upgraded paypal acct if they would lower the fees... the fees suck!

They pulled yours for that stupid reason, while keeping autcions selling imaginary friends...

Maybe I'm missunderstanding something, but I have a paypal account, the funds come from my credit card and my credit card only and my account is verified.

Why is that any different to you than if the paypal funds came from a bank account?

the ebay police will see this post.  you're screwed.

the ebay police will see this post.  you're screwed.

will they?

hey man, how do you plan to make money with those kind of policies in you auctions?  the only thing you need there is "white people is not allowed to bid"

You are being to hard on your auctions, but anyways, thats your business.

Why dont you want credit card payments? I know the paypal fees a re a bit higher, but that costs would be offset by the greater number of bidders who increase your final bid price.

I used to refuse credit card payments as well for the same reason. Never cared for the credit card-only bidders who couldn't buy my stuff, there was always tons of other bidders who could pay my way.

1.) The PayPal fees aren't terribly high at all. It's the total, plus $.30 on top of that, and then 2.9% of that whole on top of all of that. (usually 1-3 dollars)

2.) A lot of people aren't willing to take Credit Card payments, it's nothing unusual.

3.) If you move up to premier, it doesn't matter what source the funding is. You still get charged because it's in the same tier as a business class account. Business accounts also get charged no matter what. Bank Transfer, Debit Card, Credit Card.

4.) I'll admit, it's rather close minded for all the people who'd like to buy just because you're not willing to take the fees. (Here's an idea...tell the people before hand that they have to pay the fees. Tell them it's a necessity for PayPal payments. It's legal.)

5.) BTW...RodimusConvoy...that was extremely ignorant and crude of you. It's his choice and his decision not to take CCs via PayPal. By no means does that give you the right to call him on the carpet and basically call him a racist over such a dumb thing as this. (and yes, you did basically call him a racist.)

BTW...tell the people in the email about PayPal that you'd need a fee for the PayPal payments. (eBay does not allow you to take those fees through an auction. It's not illegal, but they believe what you see is what you get, and what you get is screwed, it's not on us. "haha" *eBay points and laughs*)

EDIT: One more thing... I look at online transactions like this: If I were to go buy from an online store, I'd have to pay whatever they want. I also have to pay it because they're the only source I can find said item, goods, or service. Well same thing applies to you. You're providing something they don't have and they've got to pay anyway. Paying a dollar or two more isn't going to kill them, and they get what they want. To pay for a service, I'll spend the extra money. I get my stuff, so I'm happy. I.E. "What's Good For The Goose, Is Good For The Gander."

It's no worse to refuse credit card payment than for US sellers to refuse Canadian bidders.
