I consider A/E/C to be "an unfortunate few years"

:pfx

its not that unfortunate if youve never seen any episodes of ace.

Uhmmmm.... yes it can! an who says its over?

An usually has/tak does a dual storyline... this time there wasn't a dual story.. NO Unicron! in galaxyforce.

An as far as the Armada being the modern Gen 1

to the younger fans it is! 15 and under who are don't know about the 80's series.

Youre forgeting G2, I learned about the eistance of G1 from the floating space cube.

but why Takara/Hasbro dont  plot out generation?

for the last time, there is NO CONTINUITY between the G1 Universe and the ACE Universe. god, Hasbro really needs to clearify the whole continuity mess rather than leave it up to the fans because, given the choice, the fans will try to connect every damn series into G1.

Exactly right Hornet. C'mon, its praticaly impossible to conect Armada to Generation 1. Besides, I think its better that way. Dreamawave even proved it was in a different continuity, via the 'worlds collide' story arch. Which was damn good might I add!

G1 can stay incased in it's protective fan fave bubble apart from everything else.

Beastwars relates directly to G1 but I still don't buy it as a prequel/continuation. That was more fan service than anything and would've been better off as it it started. It's own original entity with no relation/ties whatsever. G1 ended with Headmasters and everything since works best as it's own continuity/alternate reality. Hell even Armada, and Energon work better seperated from one another even if some of the characters remain the same.

My view:

Transformers(1984-1990)="G1"

G2(1992-1995)="G2"

BW, MW, BM, RID, Universe="Beast Era"

(MW and RID may not be connected in story continuity to BW/BM, and may not have mostly beast alt modes, but they really have the same engineering behind the toys... Speedbreaker is just Machkick with car parts attached instead of horse parts)

Armada, Energon, Cybertron="Unicron Trilogy" (Aaron Archer's name for the lines he's had a big hand in creating)

There will only be a "G3" if Hasbro makes a toyline called "Transformers: Generation 3"

The RiD/beast wars connection is only in the Takara toyline.. So the maximals for gone their maximal bodys to return to Autobots... I think not!

RiD is a alternative timeline story... nothing more...

An as far as I concerned- Galaxy Force/cybertron was Gen 3.

Screw hasbro and the storyline!

Whatever your opinion is, but to clarify I'm not claiming anything about the RID storyline. I group them together because of actual chronology and the toys themselves seemed to be designed under the same paradigm.
