Would you consider A/E/C = G3/4/5 ?

Recommended Posts

How many of you would consider Armada = G3, Energon = G4, Cybertron = G5. I didnt put RiD cause according to Hasbro , it was just a filler line, and only lasted 39 eps.

Not me.  G2 was a direct continuation of G1.  The Armadaverse is an entirely different universe.  If anything, BW should be considered G3.  Actually, given how little the standard Max and Pred knew about the Great War and the major players (only two or three of them knew who Starscream was), they'd be more like G12 or G13.

i only see lines they issue as g-whatever as that. The rest are just other lines. Think of Magic the Gathering, they always have a core set (4th,5th,6th...) then a serries of side lines (kamigawa, ravnica, ice age)

i dont think g2 even made much sense. its not like it had a story outside of the marvel comics. and there were only 15 or less issues as i recall.

12 issues, with 1 or 2 GI Joe crossovers.  And yes, though the comic was good, it, or any comic, isn't really enough the sell a toyline.  And adding a stupid box to the original cartoon doesn't really push it to a later generation.

it beleive it was a story telling "space cube"  :P

for the last time, there is NO CONTINUITY between the G1 Universe and the ACE Universe. god, Hasbro really needs to clearify the whole continuity mess rather than leave it up to the fans because, given the choice, the fans will try to connect every damn series into G1.

BW = G-zero (the prequel) IMO.  :thumb

well, i think RID, Armada, energon and cybertron those are G3.

the new anime may G4

I agree. but G4 more than G3. I think of Beast Wars/Machines as G3, while I think of RID as G4, "series 1", Armada as G4, "series 2", Energon as G4, "series 3," and Cybertron as G4, "series 4" (series being analogous to G1's waves of toys.)

If you look at it this way, both "G3 and G4" (according to my designation) has these similarities: Both G3 and G4 have realistic alt modes for most of its toys during the first series, their 2nd series begins to deviate from this realism. By its 3rd series, the toy had taken a "Cybertronian theme" - think Transmetals and Energon Doomlock.
