Other stories taking place in TF-Universe

Recommended Posts

I recently found out that 2001: A Space Odyssee, Marvel 616 and Doctor Who all take place in the same Comic Universe. Since we know that TF:G1 also takes place in the Marvel 616 Universe, though only very limited interaction between mainstream Marvel heroes and Transformers was seen, all these different series take place in the same universe.

I take it you want to know how all these series interconnect, right? Let me explain:

Jack Kirby, wellknown Marvel creator, was assigned to make the comic-adaptation for 2001: A Space Odyssee. He made in total 9 issues of the series. In the first 6, he retorl the story as the book and the movie did. In issue 7, the Star Child, which I take it you all remember, went through the galaxy to witness the things that humans do, especially to eachother. In issue 8, a robot called the X-51 was first seen. This robot was the 51 of a line of self-aware robots. All the previous models went insane soon after they first became self-aware. Thanks to intervention of a Monolith, and some help of his creator Dr. Stack, X-51 is saved from this fate. Now, X-51 takes the name of Dr. Stack, but is also known to Marvel Readers as Machine Man, a superhero who eventually is even offered to become a reservist Avenger.

As for the Doctor's connection to the Marvel Universe, that is entirely thanks to Death's Head. Indeed, a well-known Transformer character from the comics. Death's Head, contracted by Rodimus Prime, pursued Cyclonus and Scourge across the galaxy, eventually confronting them on the Planet of Junk, where they all fell under the mental control of the disembodied head of Unicron. Death's Head tried to resist the control, but was manipulated into killing Shockwave, allowing Cyclonus and Scourge to take command of the Decepticons and re-ignite the stalemated Cybertronian war, which would disguise Unicron's own activities. In his continued battle against Unicron's control, Death's Head confronted him on the astral plane and discovered the true origin of the world-eater, using that knowledge to help Rodimus Prime seal Unicron within the Matrix. As explosion tore the area apart, destroying Unicron's head, Death's Head - vowing to see his contract through to the end - forced himself, Cyclonus and Scourge through Unicron's time portal, vowing to kill them "another time". However, in the course of the time travel they became separated, and while Cyclonus and Scourge wound up on Cybertron in the past, eventually joining with Scorponok and becoming Targetmasters, Death's Head instead encountered the Time Lord known as the Doctor. The Doctor shrank him to human size and shot him off through time, leading him into an encounter with the future government's troubleshooting team, the Dragon's Claws. If you think DEath's head takes place in a seperate universe from the marvel universe, think again, because eventually, Death's Head II, a later incarnation of the same character (Mostly, in any case) crossed over with basically every Marvel character that was published at the time.

So, since we now have established both Doctor Who's connection to the Marvel Universe, and Death's Head's connection, we can use the latter's wellknown relation with the Transformers to have their(the Transformers) adventures taken place in the Marvel Universe. And ofcourse there is the appearance of Spider-man in the first comics of Transformers.

See! They are all connected, I tell you!

And you thought DC's multiverse was hard to get? :P

now to throw some g1 joes in there and were all set.

oh. wait.. already happened.

According to Marvel, TFs were not in the Marvel universe. The TFs and GI Joes were in a separate universe. Spiderman appearing in issue 3 was only because the comic was not expected to continue afterthe original miniseries.

Still doesn't explain Death's Head appearing in both universes, assuming they indeed are seperate, which I don't buy.

Also marvel's excuse, "spiderman appears cus it wasn't gonna last"  doesn't fly.

And the real reason why TF can't exist in Marvel universe is.... Ever read G2? When War World incinerated whole cities?

Yea and the swarm is said to kill most of the humans....

Unicron Transported him to the Marvel Univerrse.

In a related note, Everyone knows that th TF and GIJoe cartoons take place in the same universe, well so does Gem and Inhumanoids. An Animated reporter named hecter Rodregias apeares in Transformers, GIJOe, Gem, and Inhumanoids.

Battle-Beasts or Beastformers in japan, apeared in a few epesodes of Headmasters.

So thats alot of series in the one universe. Any chance of working He-Man in there?

Comic I'm not sure, I never really got into it, but as far as the show, there was definitely GI joe in the same universe.  ASide from the Flint/Cobra Commander cameos, there were other things that showed up in both series.

1.) In "Countdown to Extinction", Megatron is after the "anti-matter pod".  I forget what happens at the end, but then the anti-matter pod (looking the same way) shows up in the GI Joe episode "Rasie the Flagg"

2.) In "Blaster Blues", Megatron steals the "Voltronic Galaxer".  Then  in the Gi Joe episode "My Brother's Keeper", Dr. Mindbender kidnaps a sceintist who is working on the same device.
