Oka, I know this is an 8 yr old question but Why do you think Inferno wasn't upgraded to being Transmetal Scavenger? Everything about TM Scavenger Screams, Inferno. The face, the color and of course, the alt mode. Maybe he would have lost his flying ability but he could have still shot fire out of his drills or those ant antenea. He looks really cool too. Just suffering from  the "Alt mode legs on robot arms" thing the Rampage is suffering from. It would have been neat too if when he got the upgrade, he suddenly got an intelligence boost. Then again, I'm looking at Scavenger and he looks like he's completely insane....or really mad...my bad same thing. Why do you think this decision was made or was it stated somewhere?

Adding to this mystery, I just noticed that Scavenger has a Predacon rub sign. I dont remember the other TM's having rub signs. What the deal is?

Now that I've done a little research, they are the same pers  er bot. They share the same exact position.

i always wondered that myself, scavenger was clearly inferno transmetalized, but never was in the show

TM Scavenger was to be called Inferno.  The name change was apparently a 'name save' and becasue the first BW Inferno was still warming shelves, meaning two Inferno toys of the same price point available at the same time.

In  Japan the name didn't change.........

I can't say why he wasn't on the show.  But he wasn't one of the original characters, he was added mid season.  none of the stasis pod bots got transmetal bodies.

Well same argument goes for Airrazor, Rhinox, Waspinator and a few other 'showbots' who didn't go transmetal in the show. But yeah as of the first wave, rubsigns were showing up on Transmetals.

Now I know how long 8 yrs really is. I forgot all about the rubs. Im playing with Scavie now and his rub still works. I soo wish Waspinator would have gotten his TM body on the show. 3 per Team was a jip. Seems like they wanted to keep at least one of every body type on the show. Waspy was like the new seeker with his body.

it says on tfu.info that he was inferno. they probably had to release him over here but couldnt change the series to fit him in

Additional Versions of Scavenger: There are no additional versions of Scavenger. In Japan, Scavenger is the Transmetal incarnation of Inferno

speaking of stasis pods didnt they all drop to earth at the end? i wonder what happened to them...maybe became autobots and decepticons in a few millenia

The problem with this is partly answered above. The toy was designed to be Inferno's Transmetals mode. But a problem happened in communication, I think the original story was that Inferno was going to get upgraded, so they made the toy. Then they changed the script. Why they changed the name to Scavenger is beyond me.
