I have finally taken that last step

At least where Transformer collecting is concerned.

Since Christmas, I've been on the hunt for the new Alternators, and the BW 10th reissues. For awhile, I thought I'd be waiting many a month until I saw either.

So I started out the day like any other day when I had to take my Grandmother to her hair appointment. When I do so, I always walk over to Target, which is just across the street, and see if they have anything new. The Targets in my area, along with the Shopkos, are really good about restocking new Transformers, but for the past week, Target's TF section had been stripped bare, replaced with Pokemon of all things.

Today, however, was different. Though in a new place a few columns down, there were shiney new Transformers from the Cybertron line, and right next to them were all four of the new Alternators. They must have only gotten one box, and only just stocked it, because they hadn't been messed with at all. There were Sunstreaker, Tracks, Prowl, and yes, Skids. I nearly crapped myself. I only had enough to buy one. What to do? Ah ha! Call mom, see if she has any ideas.

So I called my mother and told her about my bejeweled find.

"I only have enough money for Skids. What am I gonna do about the other two?(See, I already have Prowl)"

"Well, why don't you hide them, and I'll buy one along with the pants you want for your Birthday."

It should be noted at this point that I don't really want pants for my Birthday, which is today, the 30th, but I also don't want to spend my own money on them, especially when they're for work. Back to the subject at hand:

I've always resisted hiding Transformers. I found it rather childish, but that was before I really began collecting and found that if I didn't pick it up when I saw it, there was a better than even chance I'd never see it again.

"Yeah, I'll do that. Sounds good."

And so, to my everlasting shame, I hid the child's playthings from the children. They await me tomorrow, when I shall purchase them with someone else's money.

Am I proud of what I did? No. But I get them and you don't, Na Na Na Na NA!!  :tftongue

I hide things

then I return for them later in the day when I have more cash

I regularly hide things at the Rt 17 TRU and the Rt 4 TRU, if they have new waves in I take what I can buy, and I hide the rest behind a piece of removeable wall paneling.

I'm a lil worse...I first go look where people hide things...that is how I got decepticharge and Prowl...

Why do you think I didn't reveal my hiding place?  :tflaugh

I liked the idea of wall paneling, though. I need to make some friends at Target, see if they can hook me up with some bots before other collectors get at them.

I'm telling you, I'm not the only collector in town. Other people are buying these figures, and it's driving me crazy! Who took my Hound?! I know it was one of you! Ohh, I've got another one now, but there's one out there, in Lincoln Nebraska, that should have been mine, but some underhanded little sneak stole him from me by rightfully purchasing him!

Seriously, I feel so alone in a city of 250,000 people. Surely there has to be other TF collectors here who I could talk to? Trade with? If they're female, marry?

If they're female, marry?

Do you really want your children to turn out like a member of the evil horde?

You need something to offset the masculine traits, and that's not going to do it.

Don't let it go too far now heh might find yourself swiping stuff from other people's carts before long. :wtf

I remember my ex hiding a transformer for me at a super walmart, and I decided to look for it about I think between 3 - 5 days later in the same spot and it was still there. She hid it behind some ACs.

Oh you're not completely alone. I come up to Lincoln for karate stuff fairly regularly (I am coming up on the 7th, so watch out) and while I am there, I always like to check for new TFs that I can't find here. I bought my BM Blackarachnia there many years ago and I always go to Target and whatnot to see if there is anything new. If I see something before you do, watch out!!! And now I know to look for hidden stuff, muh hahahaha!!!

You did the right thing.

I've hid things in the past. You gotta do what you gotta do.
