Will Alternators #'s surpass G1 #'s???

Recommended Posts

At work, I have on my wall, among flow charts of company numbers and what not, 2 TF charts.  The G1 + Diaclone car catalog and the MP + ALT/BT home made listings...soon to be updated.

I think we still have a ways to go, but the numbers keep on growing.  With some molds being redone up to 6 times in G1, its no wonder that Alts are coming back with 5 remolds (not counting Diecast VS Plastic variations) (Smokescreen remade 5 or 6 times so far (8 and 7, and that weird pink one made by what's her name)

Which will come out on top?

Did we really need a Prime in with the cars?

What's up with the little sedans?

Does anyone even care there are 5 Skid versions, the little LEE car?

Will Alts come with a scooter?

Will they ever come with as many accessories as the G1's???

Will Bumper make it as a Alt?  (That Yellow Focus idea appeals to me here, just stick on a Bumper (Bumble Jumper) looking head and make him an official TF for crying out loud!)

Will they make more double sized fake G1's like the cool Prowl so one could stand the old vs the new in close scale?  Why didn't I buy 2 to make the G1 fake Prowl I have into more of an alt?

That's all the questions I have, boarderline nonesense but...

Hell, no way.  G1 will never be surpassed by any Tf line, nor alts, nor Cybertron, etc. G1 is, was and it will always be the best line in Tf's history. Nothing surpasses G1 in quality and originality.  G1 is the prime example of how a Tf toy has to be done. Alts lack the pizzazz of G1 toys.

I don't know why people keep saying that Alt. Smokescreen has been remolded/repainted 5 times. There are only three variations on the Alt. Smokescreen mold that we know of so far: Smokescreen, Silverstreak, and Ricochet. Everything else is Binaltech which is a different line and which has it's own unique variations.

I disagree. Cybertron's toys are easily better than the toys from G1.

Smokescreen is the same basic mold, for the purpose of this post, its referred to as the same item, different head.

I am not breaking down say the police versions of G1 as totally different from the civilian toys, or better still not breaking the Sedan vs Turbo versions of Skids (totally different heads and hoods)

Actually forget the names, just stick with molds + all their major variations (excluding diecast vs plastic) (that works better than saying Smokescreen)

For this rant, there are 5 G1 lee cars, 2 red (different heads), 1 black, 1 blue + 1 silver.

And there are 6 Subaru alts, 2 blue, 1 silver, 1 police and 1 pink, with the black one coming.

Lucky I even bother to count the 7 and 8 smokescreen, its not like its a different character, its the same one, different number, die cast and the missile launcher (that you can buy a nice repro of and make all of them armed for battle)

not too specific.  Basis is (and also enforced when I was going through my loose Diaclone collection this morning and BROKE a repro yellow sideswipe gun handle...dang it) there are a bunch of Sideswipe repaints...we gonna get stuck/blessed with say 10 color variations of the Subaru mold?

I quite like the Smokescreen mold, so I don't mind a few repaints of it. Repaints of the Sideswipe mold, on the other hand, I could do without. It's, by far, my least favorite mold released so far.

nothing surpasses G1's quality?  I'm guessing that post was entirely sarcasm.

and no, the number of alts won't surpass the number of G1 guys.  at the rate they're released, that would take years.

I didn't. They're both Binaltech, and we're talking Alternators.
