Transformers are freelance in the GF story, right?

no, robots don't have souls so they have no freewill.

I gave my question some thought and came up with....

Hasbro wouldn't lose the symbols, just the names, so they'd all be packed with a symbol, sort of like the Cybertron line.  And if the opposing team attacked, it'd be like, "Optimus Prime! I will beat you myself!" or "Megatron's homin' in y'all."

*tempted to get serious and talk of sparks and what not but am lazy*

bloodibots and cripticons

got that right, although i like it being a bad person in the past and finally getting to be a good guy, that would actually be backwards. You see crips who are blue would be the bots ans the bots have blue eyes for the most part where as the cons with mostly red eyes would be the bloods, there for it would be criptibots and bloodicons

no, japanese tf's don't have sparks either.

OK, to the "Transormers don't have souls!" things, here's the news straight from, ASK VECTOR PRIME!

A: Each TRANSFORMERS robot has a spark. It is a digital soul within their metal bodies

bloodibots and cripticons

Good point!

But my sister still says "bloody bots" when she trips over a pile of boxes from my newest ebay delivery  :tflaugh

The Japanese appear to prefer their bots sparkless. Means you do not have to characterize them.

In the US storyline they definetely have a spark though which is the equivalent of a soul.
