I will have to wait for better pictures before I can make any REAL decision on this....but I'm not liking the straight repaint idea.

I for one will get all three: Prime, Rollbar and Ricochet.

 

Ricochet: sure, the Subaru isn't the best mold and perhaps even the worst of the alternators with its cumbersome legs, lack of backseats and ill-designed steering wheel mechanism. And sure, it would've made more sense to have Ricochet as a Mazda. But it isn't, and get over it  :tfevil We knew there was going to be a third Subaru and looking at the G1 cars, I think Ricochet is one of the best choices for this mold: he was a hoodformer in G1 and he's so again in Alternators. What other hoodformers did we get? I think we've already had most of them, so this is really not a bad choice. They could also have made him piss-yellow and called him Dragstrip. No, although not ideal, I think Ricochet isn't that bad a choice. Of course, those flame decals are bad and they will go. (I'm also thinking of implementing a different leg transformation (more like G1 Ricochet had) to differ him from the others.) The only gripe I have (besides those stickers) is that I feel Hasbro should have done something to differ this one from Silverstreak: a different head or different spoiler or, best of all, the shoulder missile that came with BT Smokescreen GT.

 

Rollbar: eh, just as with Wheeljack and Swerve, I have some problems with the name designation. Sure, G1 Rollbar was a jeep, but he was green. Not this color (it still looks like red to me, not orange). I've liked the jeep mold from the start and think red looks good on this mold. Don't know who he will be with me (liked lobo's idea of turning the jeep into Inferno and might do something similar with this one), but I will get him. Pitty he's just a repaint.

 

Remember folks, alternators is based on G1, it isn't G1 reborn. If you start complaining "I won't buy Ricochet because he should be the mazda", then sell all your other alts: Smokescreen/Bluestreak weren't Subaru's but Fairlady Z, Jazz/Meister wasn't a Mazda but a porsche, etc...etc...

 

Repaints are the way things are (unless, as stated above, you're willing to pay $ 40 or more for an alt, to $ 80+ for a BT). And of course, there's always the option of: don't like it, don't buy it. I, for one, will get them.

Why does every one think we're complaining cause Rico is not an RX-8? My complaint is the decals are butt ugly and Hasbro should feel embarrassed about them. The whole car mode color scheme sucks to me.

Shockblast is supposed to be the "Mazdaspeed" prototype version, which is a deeper blue (though not purple):

 

I personally do not have a problem with Richochet being a A) Subaru, B) not getting remolded and C) having stickers as he does. Some extremely small pics and a carmode in-box shot isn't going to make me decide on anything. In case of doubt I use TFkenkon. That Remy stank me in to buying a lot of TF's I didn't think I would like.

 

The same goes for Rollbar. But in the end that's all I want in life. Throttlebots.

I Say Maybe Prowl or Skids remolds. If not the remolds, then Mustang, S2000 and RX-8 is due a third repaint. Maybe Wheeljack as Downshift if they go the lazy no new head mold approach. Id love a S2000 Rumble/Frenzy
