Immediately read it, even though it will take away something from when I buy it.

 

It's so great, it brought a tear to my eye.

 

The art is wonderful: a return to the style I loved from the DW era instead of what IDW has shown so far in their G1 comic. It's great to see the japanese figures in the BW continuity of the west and I'm so eager to find out where this is going to go. I hope this will be succesful enough (which I know it will) that they will continue with this.

Holy Shiznit. THe Primes/Convoys look more than bad-ass here. I am so over this comic. I do hope there will be some interaction between the original crew and the newcomers. And where's Grimlock?

damn, the last thing we need is a comic that validates X-Bob's theory that the american and japanese BW series take place in the same continuity. the little japanophile will never shut up about it :P

This is exactly what I was thinking.

 

I personally say, Screw Japanese continuity! To me All the Japanese figs were cool toys that never made it to the BW show in my mind. To me, I like IDW's approach. Since they weren't in US continuity, they're free game.

 

I almost got goose bumps seeing LeoConvoy and Big Convoy. I wonder if that's their names in this book I also wonder who the Maximal leader will be and if Galvatron will show up. Can't wait.

However, just because they are in the comic only means that they are in the US comic continuity, not the show continuity. Which to me is a huge difference.

 

But Beast Wars is back!  :clap

 

Not that it was not a nearly impossible task but all the shows that followed it could not hold a candle to this great show. Then again, the Japanese shows are not even up to being half as good as Beast Machines.

 

That does not nessecarily say those are bad but they are not nearly as cool as they COULD have been.

 

The only Maximal leader is Optimus Primal, he rocks. I own the RM version of Lio Convoy and it is a pretty mediocre toy. And a gorilla is a so much cooler beast mode than a lion (which is too obvious), not to mention being more versatile.

 

The preview looked really nice but the story does take something away from Beast Wars if Depth Charge did survive his last battle with Rampage. I mean he did give his life trying to stop Megatron which was a really sad moment. Having him live now kinda spoils it.

 

Not to mention that it is cool that he is back. I can understand Magmatron hiding from him, I mean any bot that tells Primal to blow it out his exhaust port is one you would not wanna mess with!

i really really hope they write it so tm2 dinobot is in this eventually. anyone wondering what theyre planning for depthcharge? personaly i think they should have left him dead. his end was a fantastic one.

i just always assumed he was a general or something. who thought he was leader of all that is maximal? hmmm. thats silly. either way, this isnt official cannon to the toon, so you cant really say its proven. id say your proof is:

1. his inexperience at the beggining

2. the fact that he leads an exploration crew and not a planet

3. when they flashback to cybertron with proto x they say the council dumped x on his crew to get rid of. doesnt seem like the job of the leader of cybertron. and if it were, he prolly would have been the one to make that decision, onto some other crew even.

according to who? any official cannon? i remember seeing him in a dream of rattraps from dw, but id hardly consider that cannon.
