Alt Tracks Ver. 2

Recommended Posts

I didn't have a chance to get the 1st release of Tracks but I found the new bubble package one yesterday.  After opening him up I notice the color on him is a lil darker and has metallic on it.  I've looked at my others alts and they're all flat colors, no metalllic.  I believe the 1st release of alt Tracks was a lighter shade of blue than what I have and also a flat blue.  I think most of the BTs has a metallic paint job.  I think I'm feelin the lighter blue that I have seen on the net better, maybe it was just the light.  Oh yea, the joints on Ver 2 Tracks are tight and stiff, does not feel loose at all.  Can someone confirm on the color?

the original was metallic, but I think it was lighter, too.  I didn't look real close when I saw the newer one.

I haven't seen the v2 Tracks, but my v1 is very tight, and it's not a flat blue like Smokescreen, I would say it's somewhat metallic, like a "pearlescent" plastic was used really.

It looks for more "metallic" than my rather flat looking yellow Binaltech Tracks that actually has some metal in it.

I've been calling it "metallic flake" plastic, as it looks like they've added just that to the plastic.

The funny thing is that Takara (until recently) hadn't actually been painting the plastic parts of BTs that have the "metallic flake" paint jobs - they were using bare "metallic flake" plastic, just like the Alts.  However, this seemed to change with Laserwave and blue Prowl - probably due to problems with matching the paint to the bare plastic, which in the case of BT Hound and BT blue Tracks matched very well, but in the case of both BT Meisters were noticably different.

PS:  I didn't think that v2 Tracks looked any darker (but I may be wrong) - it might just be that he's now presented in a white box instead of a red one that makes it look that way.

My first release Alt. Tracks is very tight, especially the legs. If you have an Alt. Hound, he has metallic flakes in his plastic too.

Tracks Version 2 is the same thing as version one so I just say bubble Tracks. Decepticharge has Metalic flake in his yellow

i thought they would have put a new number for tracks... but they gave him #5... old tracks, new packaging.

Basically. This marks the 3rd time Hasbro went out of their way for us as far as Tracks is concerned. First people wanted him blue, he was changed. They wanted Flames, they came with Swerve. We wanted more Tracks cause, "I never found em  :tfsad ", poof! Track in a fishbowl!
