I was watching these two episodes last night on the Volume 2 boxset and the corporation that "makes" the robots is called Cybertron.  At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but there are a few factors that led me to bielieve these episodes were tied to Transformers.

1) The company Cybertron makes robots that have AI that replicates human behavior, and has free will.

2) The trashcans transform into giant robots

3) Barbara Gordon says, "My dad went to Cybertron and a robot came back."

The last one got me laughing.  If anyone has the boxset, watch them and see if you agree.

Were those Batman episodes? It sounds like it. Barbara Gordon

Ooops didn`t read the whole title. I do remember seeing those episodes a looooong time ago.

I remember those episodes. but I thought the core robot's name was "HARDAC"

well at the time, Hasbro had the liscening rights to make toys based on the animated Batman series so it doesn't surprise me.

so it was shameless plugs

That was one of my favorite stories from that series.  Don't have the $$ for the sets, though.

so it was shameless plugs

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

i like to think of it as "One hand washing the other".

if we're talking about shameless plug ins. in my local libary last friday as well as target 2006 i found batman versus aliens and even better, judge dred vs aliens

I AM THE LAW :lol

I watched the first part with the commentary. Bruce Timm said their inspirations for the story were the Asimov books and that Rosom was a blatant homage (To what I don't know, maybe a character in the Asimov books?) I think Invasion of the Body Snatchers was mentioned as well. They don't mention Transformers at all surprisingly, but since Rosom's company is Cybertron, it's a no-brainer what they're referencing.
