Gotta give eHobby their due, when it comes down to giving reissues that didn't have orginal diaclone colors an exclusive treatment, they come up with some interesting redecos. Case in point: eHobby's repaint of the upcoming Laser Optimus Prime reissue is none other than Ultra Magnus! Right now, only Robot Mode pics are up with the vehicle mode pics being shadowed (maybe some kind of bonus in the works?) but you can check out the full listing over at here

BTW, Laser Prime isn't Geewun.

You know, I was toying around with the idea of getting an old G2 Laser Prime and repainting it into Ultra Magnus.

 

And guess what, after seeing this, I'm still toying around with that idea. :tdown

 

Come on, we don't want a Magnus, we want a Laser Prime in G1 colors.

It's called being indifferent to reissues of 20-year-old toys I'm not really intent on collecting again when I can have the Alts/BTs instead...

The funny thing is the mold has become Scourge/Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime whatever you wanna call him to me. I'd love to get a G1 recolor, but I'm not sure the mold or sprue layout allows for that. They'd have to paint some areas.

 

The "ice sword" is nifty. But poor Magnus gets the shaft again by being yet another repaint of his famous brother.

Seriously, Maggy needs a new G1-inspired mold. Masterpiece 02 was pathetic, and this is worse. Come on, I want another Prime lookalike I can armor up with the trailer instead of a white repaint. Don't get me started on how the poor guy got a SHINING MAGNUS repaint either :tfsad
