Whats better

It's a boat. Traditionally, boats are hard to create properly without leaving a lot of it attached.

I agree am, they also have a problem with helicopters, but she feels like a copout... mirage was a 100 times better

I agree, but Mirage also didn't have a bottom. He just had an opening with wheels. Not that Thunderclash could float or anything, but it does look a little better.

I guess but I guess I get annoyed when they put a boat on her back and then have a removable gun and missles

I'm actually fine with extra pieces as long as there's a place to store/hide/use them in alt mode. I hate guns/missiles/swords/etc. that just have to sit around somewhere (SUBSPACE'D). To say nothing of hands and other actual body parts, which is super lame IMO.

You'd think that Boat Girl could have stored her stuff in her boatpack...

or that it would make a sexier cape or something, but dont get me wrong, I got a little OT in me and I cant pass up a fembot :redface

i asume when they were making chromia they wanted to keep the female lines so the only option was a shell former. they go to a more extreme with her show character having some what bigger cerves to just prove my point i dont think shes better then shock fleet/mirage tho but she is a nice contrast

as for the whole part left over deal RiD primes stuff could form a base as can GF primes left over parts so as long as thiers somthing to do with the left overs i dont mind its the old guys like Overlord that bug me seeing as ive come close to loosing parts in the past

I've always thought RID Optimus Prime's "base" mode is as convincing as an Actionmaster "base." I don't know, I think RID Optimus Prime could have been done without all the removable parts.

Having said that, I am not a fan of removable parts; I rather have kibbles because that way, the entire of the toy is the entirety of the character, IMHO.

This is pretty much my feeling as well.

I think about it like this, if the robot was a "real life" thing I'd want those parts to go somewhere and think the ol' "subspace" explination is silly.

On individual bots, I prefer kibble.  For combiners, I'd take the loose foot pads and real fists over the energon version.

Also, when I was a kid, I always thought of the removable parts as being specific only to the toy.  As far as the cartoon version went, which we can consider to be "real" TFs, it was never an issue. I just thought they stayed with the Transformer and folded up somewhere.

I prefer the parts be removable instead of every charachter having a large backpack, I like the older toys because they were better at solving the problem and giving the bot mode more of a traditional humanoid look or how about the ones like sideways or thundercracker that have there cockpit or cannon for an arm, it kind of weighs them down, Id rather have removable pieces anyday.
