Does and don'ts of TF storage

Recommended Posts

i break the boxes down so they are flat that way i don't have to worry about the windows getting screwed up or torn out the inner box pieces also are broken down so they lay flat carded figures i just cut the bubble off with a razor blade cause for one i probably never put the figs back on the card all paperwork and cards go into a binder with plastic sleeves and put on a shelf

I currently open up my Basics/Deluxes by cutting around the plastic bubble, so as not to just rip off the bubble from the card.  I was thinking of cutting the whole thing off, so I'm just left with the card and some inserts.  I guess I'll end up doing that.

However, I'm not sure about flattening the Cybertron boxes; they're pretty oddly shaped (smaller bottom than the top), and I don't know if they collapse well enough without taking them apart at the glue seams...

Here's a (questionable) way to display TFs with the oddly shaped boxes. My RM display

I hung the box on a pushpin, then popped two pushpins beneath it, at the edges to keep it somewhat level. I had Wingstun on his box, but he apparently fell off...so that makes a bit of a questionable way to display them.

Well I tend to store the boxes away by size with the largest being placed vertical or horizontal, depends on how big the box is.  With the smaller packing, I try to store it away in a manner that leaves more space by either doing it like blocks or slices, it's easy enough to do if you're careful.

Nice, you've got Macha from .Hack//Sign, very nice.

Yeah, I had a plumber come over sometime back, and I think it freaked him out. :)

I also tried swiping the hang tags off VHS plastic wrap, and put it on a Gundam box...but the sticky stuff wasn't to sticky, so the box kept dropping off...maybe I should put pushpins beneath that box too, to hopefully keep it up?

I don't repeat Don't store them we you don't live. bad things happen, slowly but surely and only my tf, maybe because they're out of package but in a box, everytime i check on them something else is missing :tdown

Elaborating on the display thing;

DO make sure you either have an understanding wife or beat her up enough to make her give you enough space to do so. Emtional blackmail also can be a tool if you're a patient guy.

No beating up, just come to a compromise and understanding.  If you have a spare room that's not going to be used any time soon, then use that room.  Not that I would know what it's like to have an understanding partner, my previous one screwed me over and lied to me for three years from the beginning, so I don't have any exprience.  But still, where there's a will, there's a way.

I hang my carded packages up on a nail.  That way they don't get lost or ruined. Another piece of advice that I have is to store the actual toys on a shelf that's made out of materials that allow them to breathe otherwise they start to discolour.

Do be creative and pose your tranformers by series.

Don't line up your transformers executioner style...as if they're ready to be shot one at a time. (I know it's owner's prerogative...but I just don't get it)

i really like the idea of the tackle boxes with all of the weapons. I know as I get older, I am going to start forgetting which weapon goes to who. As it is, I remember most of them, but my Constructicons... they just hold whatever gun is given to them, lol
