Actually, the true meaning behind Galaxy Force is spiritual awakening. Not sure if this is reflected in Cybertron, but not likely.

To be honest, I don't think it was any religion that influenced GF, but rather, the Disney-isms of how no matter how absurd it may seem, the bad guys are always oafish and idiotic while the good guys have all the answers, have to believe in themselves, and will always win in the end no matter what.

The "believing in yourself" is usually a humanist tone, but when it comes with charging auras, miraculous recoveries and super-powerful finishing attacks, it adds a certain Eastern religious tone to it.

IMHO, they shouldn't be preaching any religious beliefs, Eastern or Western, on a kiddie show.

I don't think they really do that, but it's sometimes difficult to separate what the writers believe from their messages they want to purvey on television, especially when it's a kids' show with the mandatory moral lesson. Also the "believe in yourself" is something that is actually more general and humanistic to Westerners, so it doesn't really bother the PC-conscious, not to mention a tired cliche in which the weakened good guy makes a grand comeback because of his "heart" or "will" or whatever the plot device is suppose to be.

you should try watching headmasters and bm, the evil leaders (megatron and scorponok) manage to pwn their opposites several times

i like any show that trys to give both sides a chance to win. both BM megatron and scorponok were well crafted characters whose action were well scripted. :thumb

That's a fine line nevertheless. There should be something that would filter out any religious beliefs from a kiddie show. It wouldn't be fair for anybody if all religions were to be taken out of something secular but that of the writers.

The PC police strike again....... I really hate how we've become so allergic to any ideas we don't already agree with 100%. God forbid we might actually be challenged or learn something.

Then you'll love our NDP party here in Canada. Do you know that according to them, the Bible is a piece of hate literature?

You have a point, LM, but the fact that we are letting one idea getting more coverage than others (in this case, Eastern religion) is something that should not be allowed.

Note the difference between a "Way" and a "Religion." There is nothing religious at all in Galaxy Force. Religion requires the worship of one or more dieties, and rules that are given by a specific center. Ways are just what they are named, ways of existance. There is no rules except for what you make of it.

Religion = Control

Way = Freedom

Freedom cannot exist with rules, unless they are ignored.
