It was alright, Masterforce was a much better show.

Honestly, I liked Headmasters a lot better. I just recently aquired Masterforce, and the way it ended sucked... I didnt like the fact the auto bots were the actualy humans and not the transformers temselves up untill the end of the series when they left. the only real transformers on the show were the pretenders and the seacons, and even they sucked being that snaptrap was the only one who talked thru the entire time they were seen... I mean common.. I like the american idea behind the Powermasters much better where its still the bots, but with a power boost with the human/nebulan counterparts.

Headmaster was more Transformery, but Masterforce was better as a stand-alone show. I enjoyed watching Masterforce more than I did Headmasters.

yes, but it still didtnt make any sence to have the transformers themselves not being.... transformers.. and its not really a stand alone show, if you remember correctly, Hawk, i think that was his name, said that the headmasters Jr. suits came from Chromedome from the headmasters series, which means its a direct euqual to the headmasters.

That was because Takara wanted them to tie it in somehow. The director of the show wanted to start a new continuity which is why it is so different.

Was, or is going to be an official US release of the Headmasters? If so, who has them for sale? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there are no official releases of Headmasters coming to the US anytime soon. The UK had one recently though.

Thanks. And do the UK versions play on american DVD players? I have a SONY 5 disc carousel w/ progressive scan. Are they region free? If not what kind of format are they and which dvd player here in america plays that type of format.

Sorry, they are region 2 PAL releases.

actually you will find that they are region 0 releases. they will play on ANY DVD player. you will need a television which is PAL compatible though.

i prefer the story arc of headmasters and the planet master background to the headmasters is better than the rebirth one imo, sixshot was cool, many may want to throw stones or whatever but i actually grew to like daniel and wheelie in this show, partly because Danel grows up in it. They could have kept some of the characters closer to the already existing series though

Out of the existing choices I voted no as I did not like the show all that much.

It just loses some of the touch though the latter shows are much worse. I liked the US approach to a lot of concepts better but that is just my opinion.

I liked it too.  Nice battles. :thumb

Ok I`m lost on this one. I thought that the Headmasters,Powermasters, and the Targetmasters were all in season 3, and 4 So if that`s the case then how is it that the Masterforce show wasn`t supposed to be a continuation of the Headmasters?

Season 3 had no masters in it. Season 4 had Headmasters and Targetmasters but it is not part of the Japanese continuity, instead they have the show Headmasters. Masterforce came next, but it starts off without acknowledging any previous TF show and states that the Pretenders have been on Earth longer than human civilization. Only later do they true to tie it in with Headmasters when the Headmaster Juniors are introduced.
