1.  Yes and No.  Scorponok's body was destroyed and the end of Headmasters.  His head, Zarak, was all that remained.  He became possesed by Devil - Z and Black Zarak was created.

 

2.  You're confusing Metroplex with Fortress Maximus I take it.  Either way, Fortress Maximus and Grand Maximus are not the same.  However they are supposed to be brothers.  Metroplex has no relation to any of them.

Actually, Black Zarak didn't get possessed by Devil Z until the end of Masterforce. Up until then he was pretty much just a massive, almost unstoppable guy that the Detrons called in to help conquer Earth. Toywise, other than the colour change, he had a new helmet and his "tyrant spear".

He wasn't a Headmaster and he wasn't a drone either. He was just one of Devil Z's unlings until he was possessed.

Well his toy was a headmaster, but I don't think he actually was a headmaster in the show.

Yeah, they never showed Lord Zarak seperate from his body in the show.
