during season 3 the numbers of sweeps oddly changed. The most I saw at one time was around 7. I cant explain it unless they captured more insecticon clones and rebuilt them.

personally i don't know who got formatted into who,

 

the only problem is that we know that insecticon clones didn't have a robot mode (simularly to beast wars dinobot's clone) yet the one who is reformatted is in robot mode!!, so either the spark of the insecticon were takken out of the body and put

in statsis. or they could have just done it wrong and it a clone, if a clone then it won't matter if it was fomatted into cyclonus because it wasn't sentient to begin with, the name might be a hint to that cyclonous is a reformatting of a clone?

 

as for the clone of cyclonus, i think he might have been one of the nameless cons who is killed by unicron (swollowed/crushed by him)

 

The number of sweeps did vary so it could easily been that they were given diffrent assignments.

 

my question about the Transformer movie... didn't thrust get killed cause he got swallowed, yet i am sure he made apperences in season 3?

Armada was an army - it was not just one clone it was an army like the sweeps - definition of armada from dictionary.com

no - convoy is his name - in this sentence unicron uses it as a word and not a name - "and your/his armada" - unless maybe they were romantically involved and his aramda was referring to a name-  since it is established already that the creators intended for it to be an army like the sweeps and the sentence itself and definition also say it - I would say it is safe to say there is no cyclonus clone named armada - armada is his fleet of clones.
