BTA Sunstreaker-- loosey goosey

Recommended Posts

I concur with the mold degredation opinion.

My BT Lambor and Dead End have waaay tighter joints than Sunstreaker.

I'd go with the clear nail-polish method.  If you're not careful the fumes from Crazy Glue can potentially damage the plastic.

Your statement scares the CRAP out of me

if there is this much significant Mold degredation after a year and a half - i am wondering if we will ever get a G1-Prime again!

I mean is Pepsi Prime our last chance?!?!?!!?

i am being melodramatic to be sure -but Geez these molds should not be degrading after one year!

Yep, Pepsi Prime is your last chance to own a G1 Prime. GO get him while you can  :tfevil

But seriously, my BTA alert has problems like ill fitting parts (I can't get the legs to fit in alt mode), weak knee joints and the hip won't attach properly to the upper part of the body. Neither my BT Smokescreen nor BT Streak has that problem. If it was just a few alerts who have that problem then it probably was lousy QC, but so far you hear everyone complain about it.

(Maybe there's a difference in the mold material of the 80's and of current material?)

i started noticing a difference in the quality of ALts with Prowl, when his mirrors and horns broke off.

Prowl gets the award for worst QC alt evah.  Two left hands, or right hands, missing sticks, easy breakage. :tdown

I've got BT Lambor/Sideswipe myself and have no problem whatsoever with loose joints, and I've transformed him several times. Paintchipping, that's another story (took all of one transformation for the paint of the hood's edges to chip.

Probably has a lot to do with mold degradation. Slap some nailpolish or plastic welder on the ball joints and they should be tight again.

Mold degradation?? How long has it been? Look at how many G2 figs they released in RiD. They didn't have any problems.

IMO the Viper heel is way more stable than the S2000 heel. Nevertheless, sorry to hear about the loosey-ness.

The S2000 barely HAS a heel....maybe your thinking of the ankle.

Maybe I am. :redface

My Alt Sideswipe had one loose heel, but then my Dead End didn't, and neither of the BT versions did either. I did have a problem with BT Lambor's trunk smacking his ass, though -- but not with BT Dead End.

I originally thought I had a prob with BTA SS's ankles, but it seemed to be DEFINITELY a heel problem. I agree that Dead End seemed to be better QC than Sideswipe.

Apart from a heavily chipped, smudged and bubbled paint job and some glue or something stuck to the top of his head, my Streaker is fine.

In fact he's stiffer than most of my Alts.

I know this is unfortunate but it makes me  :tflaugh

I'm not prepared to generalize about Sideswipe... I just think it's the luck of the draw in most cases, unless there's a chronic manufacturing / design flaw.
