Buzzsaw (df58):

Buzzsaw is actually an older Transformer name that dates back to Beast Wars! In 1995, Hasbro created an all-new line of Transformers toys called Transformers: Beast Wars where old characters were reimagined into animals.

:wtf What the frax?!? What about the original?

That's because the original Buzzsaw was NEVER said to be the BW Buzzsaw.

Let me look at homage in Cybertron Buzzsaw for a second...hmmm....robot head, colors...looks pretty much like the Beast Wars to me.  Let me doublecheck...nope, I don't see any micro-cassette details, or hawk head.  Don't see any homage to the G1 Buzzsaw, so why bring it up?

Errr, he means, Why is Hasbro stating this as if the name Buzzsaw was first used in Beast Wars instead of G1.

Also. Fixxored! :)

Buzzsaw is actually an older Transformer name that dates back to G1! In 1984, Hasbro created an all-new line of Transformers toys called Transformers where old Japanese toys were reimagined into wacky sentient fighting super life robots. Megatron became a gunn and Optimus Prime was a trukk. One of the characters that never got any love in the TV show, was Skids – a box. This toy, which originally was used in Transformers as a Honda City, was given a new head mold that resembles the Skids toy from 1985, and a ghey sticker that hearkens back to the colors used on the G1 toy too!

Who wrote this, it's funnier than Hasbro's original post.

Me. :)

When is Hasbro AND Takara finally realize that there are SERIOUS TFans and TFCOLLECTORS that deserve some respect with all the previous and new releases.

The names should be (either Binaltech or Alternators):

Ginrai Prime and Nemesis Prime.

Ginrai is a clone of Optimus Prime, according to the original G1 series.

and according to TF:Micron Armada series, Nemesis Prime is Unicron's avatar whose purpose is only to track down and destroy all Primes. He is not a Decepticon.

Madhammer'd

Depends on how you look at it.

I do not think Ginrai is a clone of Prime as it was a body made that would one day house the spark of Prime. This never happened as it became a different character alltogether.

So I do not see it as a clone but just as a new body. Just like in the comics Prime got his Powermaster Body on Nebulos.

I do not really care for the name too much. If I do not like it I will just make up my own.  :tftongue

Anyone here has seen the TF:Masterforce tv series?

In this series, it's told by Metalhawk that a new body (cloned or otherwise) for the Autobots commander was lost during the original crashland on Earth millions of years ago.

Have not seen it. Anything is possible of course. Not sure if cloning is the right word. Perhaps duplication is a more accurate term.

I do not really consider Japanese series of imporantence when dealing with the US alternators. I can the Japanese using their names but for me the Japanese names are largely unfamilliar.

Using Deathsaurus in the recent Botcon set does prove that the US use Japanese characters occasionally. But the reverse is true as well, I believe. In Masterforce (think it was Masterforce anyways) a human called Buster.

While in the G1 comics it was Buster Withwicky who played a major role from the start.

Still, hommages can be drawn from any series but one should use hommages local fans will recognize and like. I like the new Sunstreaker alt but I loathe the BT release at it comes with as figure from a different series and Sunstreaker is the last Autobot to allow a human to drive him.

So the team-up makes no sense. Having Bumblebee team-up with Spike or Trailbreaker with Sparkplug does but the Sunstreaker/Junko does not.

Hope these new alts will look good and I can always change the name for myself. Any US fan calling the white Maza "Meister"? I think not.  :tftongue

The BTA team ups are just to sell beter, besides thry arn't real alternators anyways.

God Ginrai is a pun on Gojira(Godzilla's jpn name) I think it's funny that one of Ginrai's rivels is King Posidon, who has a bipedal turtal as a chest. Masterforce is all about Godzilla vs. Gamera :P
