Question about screws...

Recommended Posts

So, I decided I'd just try to fix my mudflap, but to do so, I have a question about those little flat screws/plates that go into the bottom of the head/etc. on such figures as mudflap.  So my question is, is there a way to screw in those plates any farther, or are they just glued in?  I hope somebody knows what I'm talking about, and thanks for your help.

They're not screws, they're pins.

I suppose you could get a hammer and try to tap them in further, although I'm not sure what stresses that could put on the plastic.

over half of mudflap is constructed with pins so if you want to either remove them or 'tighten them I suppose you could tap them with an ultrafine tipped jeweler's screwdriver.

pins can best be removed by using a narrow tip soldering iron. The pin can then be removed pretty easily without damaging the plastic. Simply heat the part of the pin which has the ridges on it, and push from the other side.

In case one end of the pin is closed of by plastic, the solution is to drill a very small hole on the other side.

(When putting the pin back, it's also best to heat it.)

Holy Crap! Thank you! I've had no idea how to remove those damned pins, let alone replace them! Thank you!
