NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME TOYS YOU DO

Recommended Posts

Old or new, they're still bricks. :tftongue

I know you meant that in jest, but I still find it amusing.

*cue new G1 re-issue thread*

Inevitable Forum Poster: It's a brick.

Of course it's a brick. It's G1. The toyline was founded on masonry. It's the equivalent of saying 'water is wet'. We know this. It's not an insult. You can't insult that toy era when uber cool articulation hasn't even been perfected yet. Let classics be.

Yeah, the point being that they're all the same.  If reissues makes getting a G1 toy easier for a collector, then that's good.  What does it matter if they're old or new?

Reissues are easier to get than originals.

Spencer.

Unless they reissue Twin Twist and Topspin.  :tftongue

Also, it's not as if reissues are discount versions of the original figures either.  I didn't have Blaster back in the day, but I'm pretty certain he didn't cost almost $50.

I don't believe takara is wasting time in reissuing a toy i already have.  I just wished they were easier to obtain.

Are you on crack? How can they be any easier to obtain? EVERY on line store carries them and with every form of payment out there how could they be not easy to obtain?

Yep. I'm coocoo for crack because I agree.

I'd sooner buy something in a store and skip the whole USD to Canadian change over and shipping and handling charges.

On topic i have no problem at all with Has/Tak offerring reissues/repaints. For those who want them and don't have them and those who either do or don't want them feel free to stfu. Less money you have to spend and more you can invest in sonething you actually like. :thumb

I only collect originals, and I say keep the reissues coming. It drops the price on the originals I don't have yet. I don't give a damn about how rare my Transformers are, I just want a complete collection.

:pfx

To me, a reissue is just another knock-off. An overpriced KO. I guess they are cool if you don't open stuff, but at least %60 of the reissues can be obtained as loose originals for only a couple of dollars more, or often even less than the reissue. Without Buzzsaw, you can get an orignal Soundwave for less than $25 with a little legwork.

I loved when the reissue Hot Rod's came out. TM Hot Rod used to be around $260. I got mine for $45.

i don't understand that logic at all.  These are being manufactured by the official license holder with the official molds.  I would take a reissue over a beat up g1 fig anyday (just look in the endcap if you don't believe me) for every reissue i get that i have a g1 version of, i sell the g1 version because the reissues blow them away.

I'm sorry you guys are poor.

Knock-off?! what in the hell? a knock-off is when a company illegally copies and uses a TF/some other kind of toy. they're oftentimes modified. Takara/Hasbro/Tomy's reissues are NOT knock-offs in the least!

i hate it when some fans say negative things about a tf reissue just because they already have a vintage version of the same toy. you're allowed to hate a reissue but don't get all bitchy because Takara is "wasting their time" by reissueing a toy you already have. NOT EVERYONE HAS CAN AFFORD A VINTAGE TF. and some people(like me) prefer their tf's to be brand new.

I think that's because these people don't like to see their "rare" tf became less rare...

there were the same reactions few weeks ago about the return of alternator tracks in the stores...

So true so true

at some point these chodes will realize if they want to invest in something buy bonds, not toys

*hugs reissue sideswipe*

if you want a rare toy goy buy a botcon fig or a lucky draw. besides the only things that suck about reissues are the supersized acessories thanks to modern saftey standards. so if you want to Starscream about them, direct it towards lawyers and fed. **** ups who have too much time on their hands

if people are worried that theyre originals will go down in price due to the reissues, then i think you might be collecting for the wrong reason. resissues are a second chance for us nostalgics to get the toys we never got so i say keep them coming. the tfs that havent been reissued ill be buying sealed(btw ill open every one) and itll cost me a hell of a lot once im done. and the ones that have been reissued? i have no problem buying those. theyll just cost me 200 bucks less.

for us who had them, always wanted them, recollecting or whatever, theyre special. and if the easiest way for us to get some of these items is reissues, then what the hell is wrong with that?
