How are they going to move their mouths?

Recommended Posts

After watching Cybertron for the first time something came up in my mind that has always bugged me if they do a live action TF movie.  How do they move their mouths and make it look good?

In Beast Wars they had metallic mouths, but they would still move.  I used to say this was because their mouths were made of an organic metal that had flexablity, but that was my own backstory to explain the unexplainable.  In cybertron their mouths look very fake and pointless, but I hate when they give robots mouths if they don't do anything.

Does anyone know what I'm saying here?  I know I'm kind of rambling, but in a live action movie they are going to want to make it look realistic and you can't do that with the "BW" mouths unless you have some explination ofr it in the film which I doubt they do, but typicla robot mouths will looks silly and cheap.

They're not going to waste time explaining it, but I would assume they would be like BW mouths. If they need an explaination, nanotech.

Terminator 2 already opened the door to the notion of "pliable" metal...

Thats' true, I forgot about T-100

They could give em ancient Vector Prime style mouths. Where the lower lip/jaw/chin is seperate

just go for bw mouths, some have faceplates anyway

I've already said about memory metal in another thread. After all how do you get the full range of expressions? Apart for the I'm really pissed make eyes glow like hot coals which is one up on humans.

have the mouths like those from the thunderbirds shoq from what? 25 years ago?

:pfx  I bet it's not even addressed in the movie.  If it isn't pointed out, I bet half the movie goers don't even think to ask.

Beast Wars seems the best bet
