Takara Reissues

Recommended Posts

I allways put on all of the stickers (that how they were meant to be) the stickers will not ware if you dont handle them all the time(I even handle my reissue a lot and have had no ware). I have a metal Menasor from the early 80's (giftset version) and it was used by the person as a collectors item and had no sticker ware after over 20 years :clap . So put them on and don't be afraid it'll be ok. :thumb . Do whatever looks best to you. If they dont stick you could use a little glue. :thumb

I'll apply a sticker if it matches how the character appeared in cartoon and comics.... like Hot Rod/Rodimus, the factory labels are all that was ever seen in the cartoon/comics (until Botcon Wreckers comic). That's usually how I go about it. But as far as the Takara Soundwave, all the labels you need are from the factory, the only labels on the sheet are for his wristbands and to go around the battery-guns, that's basically it....

If I open it, then I apply it... of course, I only have about 3 reissues.

If I were thinking of the value, then it would stay MISB.

But don't you hate it when they inevitably wear off and make the toy look old? I wish the stuff had been painted on like with Alternators.

No, not really because I take care of my toys and it doesn't happen :P

My old G1 toys from when I was little, sure. They're all stickerworn, but the reissues won't be because I know how to handle them now

I honestly don't care all that much about value because I don't intend to ever sell the toys if I can help it

:pfx i never sold my originals , why would i sell my reissues . To me the value of my tfs is worth more than money .

Would you apply stickers on a real G1? I am collecting loose G1s with the stickers unapplied. I try to get them with the sticker sheet. To me, sticker sheets are rare especially from the G1s so I keep them unapplied.

Well, I also don't apply the stickers to my reissues too. In my opinion they would loose their appeal. Look at G1 Megatron. He is suppose to look like a real gun and he does. If stickers are applied, he looks like a toy gun. Let the cartoons be damned...

I don't for the most part. I prefer the clean look. Faction symbols and sticker details that appear in the G1 toon go in their appropriate spots though.

Getting old worn stickers off of stuff bought on eBay can be a hassle though. Luckily there's elbow grease and WD40.

I use this stuff called Un-Du. Its made just for removing stickers and the gooey crud they leave behind. It also will remove a sticker from a card or box without leaving a trace. I've removed stickers from brand new and 20 year old things without any probelms.

I highly recommend the stuff for anyone who wants to recondition their toys. Most craft stores have it. I got a MEGA sized one at Wal-Mart for like $3. One tube has lasted me for over a year.

i have , i bought a g1 wheeljack mib unapplied and i applied the decals . made it look better in the collection . you could always buy repro decals from reprolabels and apply those

I have yet to apply the sheets, probably won't unless I get a huge urge to do so. I can still enjoy my reissues w/o doing so for now. :rofl

Well.. If you consider the fact the MISB Metrotitan I bought now has applied stickers and sits inside a case with my Convoy/Prime collection proof enough... :nuts

Though, had I had the chance to get him opened in mint shape instead, I would have. Toys that rare I do understand keeping MISB... but that was the only one I had a chance of getting in condition up to par for what I buy, and I couldn't afford getting a second one later
