So i'm listening to NPR this morning and they are interviewing the "Jane Austin Society" about the new movie "Pride and Predjudice".  And i'm listening to these turds complain about petty things, such as; "Kiera Knightly has the physique of a modern woman and not a woman of the 1790's" and "The movie contained more of a romantasism than the typical Austin novel" and this from the President of the society, "If people had to pass a test on this Austin book, they'd fail if the just watched the movie!"

 

The whole time i'm like, "OMFG SHUT UP YOU DUMB HAG!!!  At least you are getting your precious 200 year old book turned into a movie!  Who cares if she stands looking at a statue in the movie instead of the portrait from the book!"  Then it hit me :redface  These soured old english majors were just us Starscreaming about a different property.  No more could i scorn their high opinions and gross knowledge superiority about a property no one but them gave a crap about, because i was just as guilty.  However, it did make me realize how stupid and elitist we must sound to people outside our little cirlce of gheybos.

Well i for one am not going to be one of those.  I'm going to enjoy this movie "transformers" for what it will be and not be like those Austinites, nit picking it to death.  And I hope some of you get to hear the story, first hand it really is enlightening.  I mean who knew the girls in Pride and Predjudice were supposed to have messy hair all the time? :roll

i agree to much time is spent Starscreaming when ppl should be happy that were getting a movie at all now im going to stop Starscreaming about Starscreaming

Something people never really seem to understand is that when someone makes a new movie version of something, they're not simultaneously destroying every copy of the source material (except in the case of Star Wars KTHX George :grr). People complain about stuff they cut out of the LotR movies, or Harry Potter, or even things that are getting changed in the TF movie. So what? You can still go read the book, or watch the original cartoon. Those are still there. They're not being replaced by this new version.

 

But basically the thread title says it all.

Yeah, I had a similar realization not long ago.  Whilst some of us here are gheyer than others, it seems that anyone who has more than 50 posts here has some ghey.
