GF Soundwave's legs

Recommended Posts

Okay.  I opened up my GF Soundwave yesterday after running some errands with my mom and coming home to him waiting on my doorstep in the box from BBTS.

I try and pose him, and his legs are kind of flimsy.  I look, and I see that his legs have joints on the lower parts that bend outward only.  I tf him, and I find out that they're designed that way for when he's in vehicle mode.

So my question is, is am I missing a step as to how to make his legs a little firmer, or is it just something you have to deal with the best you can.

Other than that, he's a great figure :tfgrin

No, there's no locking mechanism beyond the somewhat weak ratchets already in place there.  It's actually not that hard to get him to stand without his knees buckling on you, though.

And BTW, I don't know if you've figured this out or not (maybe by checking the other Soundwave thread somewhere here), but Takara's instructions are horribly off.  Following them will result in a warped, crooked-looking vehicle mode, plus, in their robot mode pics, they don't have the head lowered into place.

For the vehicle mode though, the right arm has to sit so that the rivet points straight up.  Takara's way results in a bent nosecone.  The left arm folds on top of that, and instead of sitting level, it should be raised, with the smaller hinge bracket resting at a 45 degree angle.  Otherwise, the shoulder interferes with the legs, which severely misaligns the rear portion of the jet.

No, I didn't.  Thnx for the info.  I'll try it out when I get home after classes are over today.
