Did they just throw this bot together at the last minute or what? Good luck.

hell, i thought anything would be better than what it looked like in '86. i guess not.... :tfmad

I think it look pretty good. I would have painted the flame gold but then again I always paint the flame gold. JMHO

Hey. Is it possible to partially cast Armada Energon Hot Shot's face to make a new face for Rodimus?

I think people would pay for a replacement face that you could change out with a screwdriver.

it may be possible, but imo, armada hotshot had the ghey'st face ever. i painted  hr silver and it's 1000 times better than that ugly blue.

My bad. I made my top comment in the asomption that you were going to create a Master Piece Rodimus, meaning a fully posable Rodimus. I never owned this guy, so I didn't notice your changes.

My original comment was talking about Hasbro just throwing him together to make a buck

incase you don't know what he look like origanally, i changed the the pic. i don't think you can make him fully articulated. the chest piece is connected to a slide that is inside his legs. if you change the legs, you'll have to change the transformation scheme. i don't know how to do that yet.

I was thinking about how to articulate him more as I've tried with my own and run up against transformation problems. Then it finally hit me.

You use Hot ROD (with custom, Rodimus Prime stickers) as the base. You have elbow articulation there. Get rid of his legs and passenger area/cab section.

Replace the cab with the cab and spoiler from Rodimus Prime.

Kitbash the legs from Energon Rodimus for thigh and knee articulation.

Cut off the bottom of E-Rodimus' legs and attach them to Rodimus Prime's calves.

There is some painting you may want to do before the stickers like making Hot Rod's chest solid orange and his hands grey.

If you measure the whole thing properly, you have a fully articulated (10 points or so as opposed to two) Rodimus Prime with the only sizable flaw being that he now has an engine in vehicle mode.

The downside is you'd be bashing some pricey figures.

The upside is, it's still nowhere near as bad as bashing a Masterpiece and you can get broken/incomplete Hot Rods and Rodimuses fairly cheap.
