I agree, enough with the repaints already. give me the new stuff. thats what makes this line for me, not the repaints.

 

i know they've always made repaints but some just don't make sense,

and they are getting double and even triple the money for the same mold.

 

i'll save my money and stick to the new molds, which by the way takes them for ever to come out and even announce. not cool!

What about Remolds? Dead End and Shockwave Look very different in Bot and car mode. Hell, I'm sorry, The repaints are so good IMO. Maybe it's the G1 in me but they all feel like seperate characters to me. Even Swerve. The new heads and faces give them such a different Presence when displayed. To me, Wheeljack is the only Character the doesn't feel right. He feels like he's in the wrong body. I cant imagine him knowing how to use that sword.

i  agree with you on this one. i just don't feel slapping a different head and calling it another characters cuts it for me. i don't really mind if they take an autobot and turn it into a decepticon (ravage, shockblast, and swindle) but when they take an autobot and turn it into another autobot, it doesn't do it for me. wheeljack is a perfect example. i'm sure they will take skids and turn him into ironhide eventually. those types of repaint or remolds i don't like. the only one i'm ok with was suntreaker. he and sideswipe were both lambo's

If i had the choice - i would have bought WJ over Grimlock - but at this point i have seen WJ a few times and i refuse to buy the Mustang again.

 

I wouldnt mind a Red alert as an Acura or a Subaru - but if they just slap an old head on him - i hope he is at least a Swipe head.... and not a prowl or Streak.

 

Anyway - i dont really mind - so far my fave mold is the Corvette and my least fave is the Mustang - The Wrangler comes in a close second though and i cant imagine why they want to clog the shelves with an ugly Orange Jeep since the Ugly Yellow jeep never sold....

(at least TB would be a whole different Color-direction for the mold and maybe offer us a hard top - but thats unlikely when the new one is named "RollBar")

Does cheap idiots. They couldn't open another good to go bot? Embarrassing. Takara would never do this stuff. I know they're just toys but Hasbro has some of the most crappiest marketing folks. Why dont they hire a fan for this stuff. They really need to hire Remy, or atleast who evers doing the pics for Takara.

I can live with remold/paints where they make G1 Sense. SmokeScreen and Silverstreak. The Binaltech Prowl being the same car but more heavily remolded makes perfect sense.

 

SunStreaker and SideSwipe? Sure. Heck even having a Stunticon in their general mold makes sense (would make more sense if the name was BreakDown and not DeadEnd...) and that's fine.

 

Sometimes the naming bugs me. If they'd named Swerve Tailgate and made him white... sure! Or leave him coloured this way but call him Windcharger and make the current Red S2000 Cliffjumper.

 

Heck I even like Shock as a remold because there's just enough difference.

 

Wheeljack and Grim DO look too similar, but I don't case much as I'll never buy Grim.
