COG (and Brave Max parts)

Recommended Posts

Some of you may remember that I sent away for the Brave Max parts set from JD Productions.  They had supposedly sent me a set twice that I never recieved.  To their credit, they sent it to me a third time (registered mail).  So, now I finally have it.

There are those that say that these reproductions are brittle.  To be fair, many resine reproduced figures are such.  So, I will treat them with care.  I am pleased with the mold quality.  The finer details of Cog, and Max's weapons are preserved.  I did have to do some trimming on a few edges, but the exacto knife worked like a charm.

Verdict:  As I've said, I am pleased with these reproduced parts.  No one else has repro-ed Cog.  The Max weapons detail-wise are top notch, but care must be used.

Cog stands proudly atop Max.

More detail.

Emphasing his ladies' bot charm, Cog draws his fair share of attention at parties.

I will have to hit up Reprolabels for a 'Cog only' sticker set though.  Details, details...

Looks great! You planning to paint him? And how much did ti cost if you don't mind me asking?

Looks good.

I ordered the same set from a guy named "Jangar" off his site a few years back.  He got paid but I've never gotten my stuff.  Then his site went offline and he stopped responding to my emails.

Because of this unpleasant experience, I haven't decided to buy the set again but looking from your pics, maybe I will rethink it.

I do intend on painting in some of the detailing.  Also, I hope Reprolabels will make a 'Cog only' sticker set.  I already have their Brave Max set (primo!).

As far as fragility, I've heard of some other people's cracking.  I do not believe that these parts would withstand a child playing with them.  However, they are still good looking.  So, in my opinion, they should be for display only.  Once I add the details that I want on him, I will probably add a protective clear coat for added strengthening.

Oh yeah, the entire set cost me about $60 U.S.

I got this set as well and am highly disappointed in it.  I believe they were $60 plus shipping on eBay when I got mine.

Mine is missing a wheel to the underside of the tank part of cog.  He came with supports added because the quality of the material isn't good enough to even hold the wheels in place.

The large Max gun is decent, but heavy because it wasn't molded in its halves.  The double gun I have has a thin wall at the back side.

And just as in the pic there, the black on mine isn't right either.

Definitely not worth the $60+.  I'd easily let my set go for $50 and take a loss if anyone wants one.

I am sure some would be happy with these for display.  But I was really looking for quality pieces.  And if that is what anyone else is looking for, I suggest staying away from them.

good repaint.

i think this is not original repaint. is KO repaint, right?

This is a reproduction.  In a sense, since it is a toy, I guess you could also call it a KO.
