anyone remember how in the Marvel G1 comics and prior to the movie, the matrix was not a physical object but a form of energy that was used to give life to new tf's? that's probably what Rhinox was refering to when he said that Prime's spark had the matrix with it.

The spark holder looked like the matrix becuse it was a decoy. Rghinox was probaly refering to the Heaven aspect of the matrix

yes now that was probably a reference to the heavenly matrix. don't forget hat the matrix of leadership and the heavenly matrix are two different things.

Sort off, the Heavly Matrix and Primus are one in the same, The Matrix of leadership and the Matrix that sparks are created in on cybertron are connections to the heavely matrix.

is yur "heavenly" matrix also the oracle? The "leadership" matrix could also be only a portion of a bigger power.

My solution is to just not think about it real hard.  In Optimal Situation, the writers needed Primal to carry Prime's spark, and Rhinox states that "Prime's spark has the matrix with it."  So it's not that big a deal that Prime's spark is also in the matrix shell.

 

 

Although, I guess that Primal missed the spark completely and actually opened the matrix.  I don't think it's too much a stretch for the distruction of the time continum to be one of the darker hours.  Then the power of the matix healed time, upgraded primal (just like Rodimus), and sustained Prime's spark until his head was fixed.

I dont know how to look at this. Too many varying continuities. I loved the Optimal Situations episode but the Matrix is far more than just some fancy spark holder. It had the combined knowledge and power of all the greatest TF minds of the past and was the positivity/goodness incarnate. When opened it actively seeked out and destroyed all negative evil forces immediately affecting the TFs. ie Unicron + Hate Plague.

 

The Matrix on BW looked so generic, I hated that. I guess they were trying to say that the ball of positive energy in the Matrix also contained Prime's spark. To contain all that energy, it forced Primal's body to enlarge and morph.

 

At the end of BM the same thing happened to Megs. When he consumed all the life forces of all the inactive TFs, it caused his body to grow too.
