Laser Prime to be reissued

Recommended Posts

Nice. Very nice.

This is indeed one of the best Prime molds in existence. However, it's still pretty easy to get this on and complete for relatively little money. So why pay for the reissue?

I would really like it e-hobby would release a G1 colored version. (Would also save me the work of painting one myself.)

I concur.  I'm rather unsure about this one, have one already, and never liked the mold

much  in the first place.

Takara need to add something extra to make this one a success.

This really does seem like an odd, silly reissue. It'd only make sense to me if they did paint him in G1 colors like that kitbash........ and then hope for a TOXITRON ehobby version  :thumb

TOXITRON.  Ha!  Anybody remember the 'Eco Warriors' subset from the dying years of G.I.Joe??

Toxiton sounds like an Eco Warriors B.A.T. or something........

I wonder if Takara if any intentions on releasing the original G2 Prime...  I don't think it was released in Japan(?)  Wouldn't be hard to make it and demand would probably outstrip the re-hashed Pepsi Prime.

Otherwise, I have this feeling we'll be in for an even bigger shock on the next non TFC reissue....  Like it will either be a major reissue, or something so left of center, we'll all be scratching our heads.

Weird -- that's pretty unexpected. If they do repaint him in a G1 deco for eHobby or whatever, I wonder how they'll handle the stickers. To my knowledge, eHobby hasn't yet sprung for new stickers on their repaints, and Laser Prime's chest / shoulder stickers are sort of required since they hide big screw holes (which is why RiD Scourge had stickers). I don't know that a G1-themed Laser Prime would look that great with the original G2 stickers. Though I can enthusiastically recommend the Reprolabels set for him -- it's awesome.

G2 Prime was released in Japan. The trailer was in trailer mode, but the cab was in robot mode, visible through a window. A lot(all?) of the G2 stuff released in Japan was packaged in robot mode(Dreadwing/Smokescreen, Cyberjets...)

I like how they put his hands on his hips like he was Superman or something.

Of course they do this RIGHT after I order Scourge. lol Ah well, Prime in black is much cooler.

When they spin the Wheel-O-Repaints it will land on clear or fire guts. :)
