I was just noticing how boring and plain E. Grimlock's whole torso section was (all that yellow), and I decided to change it up a little with some red and black.

That black on the chest streamlines him and helps the figure look much more proportionate.  The toy really did need some improvement.  Good work!

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but the yellow on that figure turns me off on the figure.  I actually have the figure and even like the mold (Swoop too, just don't combine em, unless you want the Junkion Dinobot), but the yellow makes him look too kidish to me. 

 

Your idea of adding black helps him out a lot though.  However, ever since I got my set, I've wanted the chest vaccum metal gold.  :P

That`s really good. I would have gone the extra step and painted the chest gold for the full G1 homage but ah well. The black and red do, however do wonders for this mold.
