1) I like him.  I like the colors and the art work.  At first I didn't, but it's grown on me

2) I'm collecting all the Alts.

3) I like to have two of every mold, so I can display them as a pair with one in  car mode and one in  bot mode.

4) He's rare.  I won't buy something JUST because it's rare, but if it is rare and I like, it that makes me want it that much more.

 

That's all I can think of.

I have a strict no remolds/repaints policy when it comes to Alts...thats's why I only own the first 7 original molds.  Why pay twice for the same toy?

I will be calling him Dragstrip for my collection. Just as I'd never refer to Jazz as 'Meister' except for collection references.

 

Heck I've still half a mind to call my 'Dead End' 'Break Down' in stead because the name makes more sense, even ifn the colours don't.

People want him because they can't get him (or at least have to try hard). If he was warming the shelves like Ravage no one would want him. Rarity breeds attraction.

It's the "rarity" (blame it on hasbro scrwed-up distribution)  that caused the interest, I got mine online and he is not the best altnor the worst. But if he doesn't appear in more places, he might become one of those so called "Holy Grails" just out of rarity or mere fan curiosity, or just plain greed (gotta own a rare Tf in the collection to feel good)

I like the head sculpt, and I intend to give him a major repaint. Cop car, probably.

Well I should add that I am happy I got him. He is on display with all my other alts and I would take him over most anything that the newer lines have to offer. Not the best figure but there sure is some worse TFs.

 

I am not immune either to the "rarity" disease. *cough Energon Ultra Magnus :thumb cough* Personally, I think it adds a bit of interest to TF collecting.

I'm a completist. That being said, I don't really have an opinion on him one way or another. I understand people wanting him since he's currently hard to find. I don't understand the hate for him, however.

because you miss out on some good figures, Shockwave is one of the best IMO
