The BW toyline was originally intended as the next step of the G1-G2 storyline. Optimus and Megatron were the same characters (at least according to their techspecs).

 

It was the BW writing staff that decided to make it more of a sequel.

I wonder how they're going to explain G1 Grimlock in the BW story line.. it's going to be a bit of a stretch.

If Furman is following the Marvel continuity, then Grimlock being is Beast Was can makes sense, since the Dinobots were already on Earth in the comics.

Yeah I'm aware of that.. but Shockwave trapped them in Tar or something to my knowledge.. I dunno, it's going to be tricky. I probably won't read it anyway. Not to big on comics in general.  :tfgrin

He could either be part of the Axalon Crew, and landed on Earth in one of the escape-pods, or he could have transported to Earth like Depth-charge did (And presumably how Magmatron also got on Earth).
